Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

This is going to be a tough week

Okay. This is torture. If we are going to find out this week, I hope it's tomorrow. You know what calls are the hardest for me? The ones where members are complaining to me about Humana. It's hard for me to not just agree with them at this point, after being sold a gallon of Kool Aid upon hire and in PHC training. Of course, I stay professional. This is going to be a tough week.

Below poster, from talking with coworkers I think many are on the same page as you. Just get through 17, and it seemed more feasible when we were lulled into a false sense of security by the "no more planned 17 layoffs" message (I know, I know... we all should have dissected the words and been properly skeptical. And I don't blame JR I think he meant it when he said it).

I wish you luck, poster! Best to all of us!

Op I agree with you this program is sinking ship. I made the previous post about looking for other employment. I knew when the merger was announced last year we were in trouble. In the meantime I planned to make it through 17 and out by 18. Just on my own accord not with the stress of layoffs every other month.

I'm looking as well. Whether I survive this round or not, I don't plan on sticking around into 2018. If we are graduating all these members in the next several months, that tells me my job (PHC) won't be needed in 18, or - like posters have hinted - there will be a need for a very small number of us, and I don't plan on playing this "Survivor" game any longer than necessary. So I'm looking regardless of whether or not I get the confidential email this month. This ship is sinking.

I have spent the past few days speaking with friends about other opportunities and sharing my resume. I have a family to feed and I will not allow Humana destroy my happiness. Don't get me Wrong I need my job and strongly believe I will survive all of this by note getting laid off.

That USB probably why Humana lets you off the phone just within a day or so of a layoff. They don't want you agreeing with complaining members. They spend so much time protecting a "reputation" that they continue to destruct on their own with every action.

I feel ya. CHE here. This is the THIRD round of layoffs this year for us. It's just too much. They said the roles are being reduced and not eliminated. But I also can't help but wonder - exactly how many are left now? And how many will be left after this round? If there's a 4th, they should just come out and tell us they're going to be gone for good. The amount of uncertainty they leave is no unfair.
