Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Miserable company

This company and its leaders are a sad example of a thriving cooperation.

I left after 36 years (in March) and no I didn't go back to work anywhere as I have elected to retire. It was great through Garrett and even Allied-Signal. It changed when Allied-Signal merged or purchased Honeywell.

All the best but know there is life after Honeyhell. Can't understand how site leadership and VP's and managers continue to support a line of bull to thier hard working employees then go home and pretend to thier loved ones what a great difference they are making in people's lives. Sick management style.

Jack Welch's proteges took over. Welch, whose only business acumen was in finance and political crony-ism, had turned GE from the greatest manufacturing company in the world into a second rate bank. 70% of GE's revenue came from its finance department. Welch said:

"Number one, cash is king... number two, communicate... number three, buy or bury the competition."

Create value? Innovate? Nah!, Welch figured he could buy people who do that.

Dave Cote was a mentally challenged version of Welch. Cote's basic MO was cutting costs with no understanding of the long term effects. He lacked even the ability to identify which innovative companies to buy.

The only thing that Cote ever created was the biggest corporate political action committee in history - HIPAC. Buying and schmoozing politicians paid off big.

Interesting to hear that Allied Signal was good before the Honeywell merger. So was Honeywell. What the hell happened?!

I too wish they would offer a good retirement incentive. It's really hard to hang on and I really need 2 more years.

I 'retired' a few years ago. If this company had any scruples or integrity they'd offer their long term employees buy out packages or retirement incentives. Instead, they create false, negative reviews, throw loyal employees into 'the elbow' and make life hell for them. All I can say is what goes around comes around. Karma's a b--ch.
