Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Factors

Can anyone add any insight on what is factored into "the list" that is sent to hr?

I think it is going to happen the beginning of August. 😔

Sadly, I guess we will know next week if that rumor about layoffs on the 25th is right

Agreed. It is the small minority that post off-topic commentary about how useful this site is or how other workers are complainers or they themselves wil complain about other workers. Then the entire thread goes downhill, when most of us are just here to learn what others may have heard regarding layoffs.

I just want information about if they're going to be layoffs or not and if so what are the rumors for what departments are going to be affected. Just general information . I'm not really concerned about overachievers or average workers . If we were not talented people Humana would not have hired us. I wish everyone the best but let's stick to business

No reason for any of us to judge each other. The lack of solidarity at Humana amongst workers is unlike any other company I've worked for. We are stressed so we turn against each other? Makes no sense. Coworkers used to bond over the corporate nonsense at other companies I've been with. Maybe this is just a result of the WAH isolation. We don't empathize with, or even try to understand one another, but of course we are hardly ever in a room together, if ever.

I miss venting, laughing and sharing experiences with my old coworkers, and I get that this is different, but maybe if we all try to put ourselves in each other's shoes now and then, there would be less judgment and bitterness.

It's a muddy issue. Some factors are at play, and coaches get a "say" with our reviews in the talent center, and with conversations with their COMS. It's my understanding there is not a direct conversation of "who do you want off your team if we had to do cuts and you had to rank them", but an overall conversion related to our already watched and ranked metrics, scores, time on the phone, reviews, etc. coaches have been just as surprised that their "top performers " were selected for layoffs in past rounds , so the coaches can't make or break you, the decisions are made at a much higher level, based on who knows what....and please, stop with the "over achievers ruin it for all of us" line, I am SO tired of that line of thought, that those isolated people are enough to drive the metrics up for thousands of people to meet? Really, poster? The metrics are set from higher up, the over achievers, as you so negatively call them, have no bearing on the numbers or not. Do you really believe your teammate who can do one or two more calls than you can impact the whole of Humana and set the numbers for the whole system? There are expectations. The coaches manage them. I am one of those "over achievers " and I take offense that I bust my butt to do my job, balancing the quality and quantity, being micro managed, scored on silly things, then member experience reviewing that makes no sense, and do you not get that my getting the one or two more HELPS you with our TEAM average in bringing it up a smidge? Because my one or two calls more don't mean that you are expected to do it, you are expected to do your job. Stop the train of thought that those of us that can sometimes pull off, on a good day, exceeding the expectation, somehow sets a chain of events in place that next week EVERYONE is expected to do it? Since I got one less UTC than you? Really? Back off. I don't need my teammates micromanaging my work, criticizing my job and how I do it, too. Stay in your lane, lll stay in mine. I don't criticize the "under achievers " for making me work harder. How offensive, judgmental, petty and inappropriate of me to judge YOU in that way. So, stop judging me in that way. Do your job the best you can each day, some days are better than others. Attacking each other isn't the answer. Posting pleading for "over achievers" to stop what they're doing so people can get realistic numbers? Talk to your coach about they're handling it, don't talk to me about doing my job. I didn't drink the Kool aid, I'm not a troll, or a management spy. I am a Humana hccp person and I am tired of being buckshot from every direction and this last poster on over achievers as a negative thing was the straw that broke my back. You don't know me, I don't know you. I don't look at you and your numbers and p,ear and beg and try to shame you to do your job differently. Please respect me the same way. We all balance each other out. Don't you get that? It's not my numbers, it's the directions from the COMS and how the coaches supervise. How about you plead with your coach to back down? Or beg them to change how things are done? You won't and they can't, so stop turning your angst on me and focus on yourself on what you can do each day, the best you can, and do it.

So coaches send a list to HR? They recommend who goes and who stays? Interesting.

It seems we can never please Humana, that is why those overachievers who are constantly wanting to make more and more calls even if it takes staying very late daily, are not safe either, they are just ruining it for all of us since the metrics changes because some make more than the requested amount.

It is so odd to me. We lost top performers in round one - the kind that would bend over backwards to please our coach. I was never like that- it's just not me. Yet they are gone and I am still here. Never made sense.

They put all our names in a hat and close their eyes before selecting. It appears to be a crap shoot!

Was laid off, top employee, had just had an outstanding evaluation days before I was laid off. HR told us there was an assessment completed by coaches and that an outside company was hired to assist with picking us. HR would not tell me what was on this assessment because " legally they aren't allowed"
