Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

What thread cites the July 25th list to HR????

Posters are citing this as gospel, but where is the original thread and who posted it/how do they know? August 1st is the usual quarterly rah rah meetings.

Good luck with the job hunt, poster...hopefully, working actively on that goal will help you keep focused on alternatives and options, and what may be deal breakers for the next job....working at home has benefits, yes, but being out of the loop also has its disadvantages

Thanks and I agree with you, below poster. I am looking. My goal is to have something else by or before the holidays, so I don't have to be stressed throughout the holidays about job stability. Thank you for your post!

To the poster who said: Yes, if by "exciting" you mean constantly on edge, worried about job stability, family and mortgage, then sure, it's exciting...

Take some power back in this situation, and stop being constantly on edge and worrying, find another job, with stab, because you're mental health is worth more than the stress. You may have to adjust your budget, downsize, etc, but it is not worth it to live constantly on edge. Things aren't going to change in health care, or in corporate America, for that matter. Find a job with stability, start looking, get one foot out that door, then you may feel more empowered. There are jobs out there, but the reality is they pay less, and have always paid less than Humana, and layoffs have no rhyme or reason here, so the only way to be on top of it, is to leave it. And, that may mean a revamping of budgets, schedules, etc....but your mental health is worth more to you and your family.

Any info provided on departments and roles to be impacted?

I have a reliable source and believe it's true. They were right about the last 2 "impactions" occurring when they did so I believe them now also. But fingers crossed they change there mind every other day about any and everything else.

There is a coach JJ that uses that phrase as well "it's such as exciting time blah blah" very irritating and more importantly she can't possibly believe that crap.

Those that left after 2 weeks were still considered employees. They kept their computers and log ins. They were given that time off to find a new job whether internally or externally. I was told the CHEs were not given that option and had to continue doing tasks and meet metrics up to the last day.

Humana will continue to offer you the same insurance while you are in severance and will continue to withhold payment from your severance checks for it. After that COBRA will be offered which is generally incredibly expensive....probably triple what we pay now.

COBRA is federal, which you can pay to cover you after you leave a job. PHC have had the writing on the wall for awhile now, and it would seem to be job hunting elsewhere may help with peace of mind. Sadly, finding a job at what Humana pays is going to be hard, but at least you'd have some control over what's going on, instead of waiting. If you get a job and resign, you'd get your PTO, and wouldn't need severance....and it may be better to look now rather than when there's a layoff and the market is flooded

Any Phcs layed off this year..... How did pay work? It seem like first round had 2 months second round two weeks? Did you get 2 months pay them severance? How did insurance work? Was cobra offered after the 2 months? We have phcs on our team pregnant, with ongoing illnesses or children with health issues....

Whatever does or doesn't happen in August, HAH is a sinking ship for PHC's. If my coach uses the phrase, "such an exciting time," once more, I'm going to throw up.

Yes, if by "exciting" you mean constantly on edge, worried about job stability, family and mortgage, then sure, it's exciting...

Im sure layoffs will occur. We will be used to inform members they are"graduating" from program and whoever is left will go to hcm Rns and Phcs will be history. The program will just exist for severe members. There is Live healthy info on sharepoint and thru refer to phcs... And refering to nurse consults but i have feel that program will be scrapped

Has anyone heard this directly from a coach, or is anyone here a coach who can anonymously confirm? Does anyone here feel they received this information from a reliable source?

I thought the forecast was for 18 months with no more layoffs for the remainder of this year. However BB sent that email a few weeks back and it indicated otherwise. But I mentally anticipate there will be more at th start of 2018.

The original poster of the comment of the list doesn't say much related to reliability, and The Who/what/where/when/why of it all. I hope it's wrong, but it seems pretty sketchy. Talent center updates are due in, that's a normally scheduled thing with our mid year reviews, these have to be submitted to HR....lots of things could be submitted to HR, and it just seems really random.

Right. No more "planned" layoffs. I can see layoffs happening as early as 7/27. Why wait? They will just get it over with then release the affected employees early as they have in the past. What happened to the Golden Rule BB?

They are not enrolling any members into that HCCP program . It is July and they have not been enrolling for a couple months now. If you are not adding to your program you are going to have layoffs. They are not even planning to keep this program going if they are not adding new members .

This came from a coach. The key word was no "planned" layoffs. They will say this was unplanned and based on new projections, which is total BS! Ask any coach or comm, they knew more were coming. And just imagine, layoffs in August, 2 months to find a job internally puts us beginning of October as the end date and for most of us severance will then run out just before Thanksgiving and Christmas. Oh, how kind!

Coaches In Training thread had it posted. Notice we have NOT been sent any town hall invites yet? That's the way they do it. Usually the invites get rescheduled a hundred times. Looks like they got smarter this time around and just didn't schedule.

I'm finding this difficult to believe due to, after last round, JR saying they were done for 2017 and they would need to work to rebuild our trust. This would obviously have the opposite effect.

Is this coming from a reliable source? Or are we getting people into a panic for no reason?
