Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

SNP rosters over 800 members now!!!

So the SNP roster continues growing because people continue quitting. How much bigger can they get? How do they expect us to be able and manage such high #?

The alerts are numerous daily and the pressing emergencies keep on coming all day long. When will that # decrease? At the rate we are going it will only be bound to increase if the rumors of layoffs turn out to be true!

How can we provide optimal service to our members if we have 800+ members to manage each?

It is impossible to plan your day anymore. Everyday 4-5 alerts populate at the top of the roster so they take preference. meanwhile, the red overdue MOC and UTC pile up. SNP rosters sound worse than ours at HCCP. One thing that I will say, is to not bash anyone on this website. You do not know what you haven't lived. You would think that there would be more solidarity here on this website. I still hear the phrase quality vs quantity from our coach and COM; I wish the focus was on quality!

To the HCCP rep making these statements about the SNP HCMSS. you are beyond uninformed and speaking out of turn. I have also had people leave SNP to go to HCCP and express that the role requirements on that side are just ridiculous compared to SNP. Meaning they are much easier. so everyone has their own differing opinions. Enjoy the job you seem to find manageable. The SNP requirements are not reasonable and the amount of mandatory calls that have to be made is not possible to manage. This is not regarding the metrics that have to be met, but the calls that we must make. the percentage of people working overtime DAILY not sometimes and not because they are in training speaks enough to the ridiculous requirements that leadership has established with no idea what they are doing from one day to the next. Happy that you seem to be in the small percentage of people who find the demands doable. I have always excelled at every role and have excellent feedback from every coach I have had. My inability to find this role doable has nothing to do with my skillset or my intelligence or work ethic.

I'm sorry, I truly don't mean to come across as judgemental or unsympathetic. I'm just saying that being a CM carries a lot more responsibility than what the SNP SS's did before. I have a friend who is a-- in SNP so she has shared what the differences are between those roles and also shared what her frustrations are but does say that the job is doable. She does work over 8 hours some days but that is to be expected, especially when you are learning a new job. Anyone who wants to succeed will invest that time but also knows that it will get easier and they will be able to do things quicker over time. I'm just saying that us over in HCCP having higher metrics expectations and being able to meet those metrics should hopefully give the SNP people some hope that they can meet theirs too. They just need to stop and realize that they can't compare what they did before to what they do now because they're two totally different roles. You guys can do this, it's really just a matter of deciding if you want to or not. Again, not trying to be mean or judgmental just trying to be honest.

If you don't appreciate people venting, do not come to this site, this site is for that! Would you please respect what they have to say? Are you in their shoes? Have you done their job as it is today? Do not judge if you are not in their shoes.

Everything has changed and continues changing, both Nurses and Social Workers are having a very difficult time finishing their work in less than 10 hr work days. The intensity and stress is horrendus... please, if you are here to judge, visit a different page then.

Thank you!

Wow if someone is having a tough time, why knock them for whining? How can we assess what their roles entail unless we ourselves have that same role? There is nowhere to vent in our WAH world, so how about we let them do so here without knocking them. I have a requirement of 10 (9.7) per day but so can't assume what others' jobs require.

They're in SNP. They only have to make 5 contacts a day. I don't understand their whining? Those of us in HCCP are required to make more and we do more. SNP SS's are primarily the ones complaining here. They don't like being CM's now, too much work.

Which dept are you in that 5/day is the norm? HCCP RNs need 9 and HCMSSs need 6. Minimum, with a preference on higher.

I wish it was that simple to make 5. Sometimes we have to call over 20 Members to get to that 5 and the entire day we fear to get in trouble if we don't make our #'s. But we can't force our Members to answer their phones. They see the caller ID and immediately don't answer our numerous calls! We are telemarketers that have nothing to offer to them because we have no time to even listen to their problems since we need to make our #'s. It's such a pathetic job, I'm actively looking for a meaningful job in a not so abuse/demanding/competitive and cutthroat environment like the one we have now.

Just get your 5 daily required calls and move on with it. Humana doesn't care about these members.

I don't even look at the roster sides anymore. I just make the require member contact and I'm done. It is obvious management don't care about us or quality member care. My health more important than this job.

We can't. It's not about providing optimal service to members. It's about getting the most money possible while paying the fewest associates possible. Burnout be damned.
