Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

DXC layoff tsunami

DXC is hiring a few more business HR candidates to hasten the layoff WFR process for the July-Aug-Sep quarter. Expect a tsunami of layoffs coming soon..

The target being that most US offices should be clear of any technical capability roles or support roles. Other admin staff should be reduced to bare minimum.

.. watch out and stay safe...

or better still look out for opportunities elsewhere before it is too late

@5byw, I can't speak for other accounts, but on my account here is what I know has occurred: June 22, 10 people. On July 14, 4 people. There aren't too many onshore people left, but we assume on July 28 there will be more. For our account, it seems to be every 2 weeks.

July 20 - 24 is what is scheduled for July 2017.

not sure why all IT companies world over have started firing employees all together, it it some planning more centralized like something orchestrated at a higher level ?

Notice that there are now hundreds of these messages of what a Crap Company CSC/HPE/DXC is. Useless Managers who are just sat at their desks collecting a pay cheque for doing Sweet FA! This Company use to be very good to work for about 6 or 7 years ago, but has really nose dived in the last few years. I escaped and glad I did....AVOID this abortion and wait for a good company to get a job...you'll be glad you did.

Nice to see medical staff contributing to this thread, to me it seems true.

As bad as it sounds, I would still say that "workers in America" are a thing of the past. The worker countries are India, Pakistan, Philippines, Indonesia, etc. Its high time we brush up on reality and do something better for ourselves, rather than talk of "bringing back jobs"

The USA is a capitalist country and "jobs" is not the in-thing. Surely we can do better than that. Give it a thought.

All becomes rather easy to understand once you realize DXC, from its inception, was doomed to fail. It was initially administered a frontal lobotomy followed closely by a full vacsectomy. Therefore it is not capable of rational thought or reproduction. What it is now experiencing is a massive enema to purge all the festering waste. It can then sustain itself in oblivion and irrelevance until it finally transforms into a lifeless cadaver.

1kgj, yes, agreed to all points noted. However, I have witnessed even those "embedded" or "named" in the contract with customers were being WFR'ed. Keep in mind all bets are off now all contract put in place with HPE with "named" resource can be swapped out with lower pay resource. As they called it "resource optimization". They would entice newbies with alledled "promotion opportunity " to get rid off two account leads and replace with one cheaper labor. There is no concerns for customers sustainability. This is precisely they laid in wait until after the spin merge to do whatever they want at the expense of the employees and customers... everyone is vulnerable to the ruthlessness of the top - do whatever it takes to boost up the stocks and cover up the leaderships incompetence ..

No, people embedded at customer sites would be last impacted. The total targeted rate is to remove over 60% from DXC. The company may also be sold or outsourced in its current form and may change hands soon. Retrenchment is the only way forward for this company as they seek a very aggressive target of below 20k employees from current for the current services supported. If the company and s sold, Dxc would cease to exist and would be a very small contractor. Target is Dec 2018. Each owner is stripping it to bare essentials for a profit and selling it off.

"Follow the money" is a often used term. In this case DXC needs to hit both financial and personnel target. We are tied to fiscal quarters. What happens this quarter will be based on the results of how DXC hit their marks for the 1st quarter of their fiscal year. Right now the initial results are probably being complied and reviewed... Some late June indicators are that we missed some critical targets.

I don't see the OP as off or fear mongering. It becomes common sense. Beancounters are running the company now.
