Updates on Pontiac closure?

The clock is ticking they are actually closing Pontiac down. Let management get a little taste of what the little dumplings had to deal with. I am hearing drop dead date for exit is 1 Oct. Yikes

They have bought another building in Auburn Hills for the Pontiac people. I know many were let go but many were not. I work at a DC in Auburn Hills and we are fine, we are not going anywhere anytime soon. The Pontiac Labs were migrated to Plano.

Auburn Hills and Rochester Hills sites are impacted too! Don't know if completely gone, but it sounds like dxc will be gone from Michigan and completely overseas for this areas jobs

Office 365 that was rolled out was in preparation for BYOD.

The 26 people I know at Pontiac being told to work from home already had laptops. No need to issue new equipment. I have no idea about the thousands of other people working there.

@Ob6CXRq-4vbq The irony being that not long ago, all those work-at-home people were told they had to come into the office every day...

I wonder how this affects the tax abatement HP/HPE got when they moved into that location in the first place. Work-at-home employees will be happier...they'll not have to pay the City income tax that they basically had to swallow when they moved out of Auburn Hills, Grand Blanc and all the surrounding offices that were shut down to consolidate into Pontiac. Probably the only pay raise they'll see...unless DXC decides to dock them the difference ;)

Place was an armpit anyway - it won't be missed.

On my team of 55 people there are 26 located in Pontiac. They have been told to work from home.

Ob6CXRq-3vhe, it's good to know there is still some good people/customers out there.

Often time, the customers do not want to get involved in the decision making of WFR's. Mainly, they lost confidence in the DXC leadership.. if customers insist on keeping certain employees, they know leadership will actually use that against them when issues arised with delivery services- even if it is beyond the control of the employees. This is all tied back to the lack of ownership by the leadership at DXC..

it's good that some customers still believe in doing the right thing... unlike the ruthless leadership at DXC...

If you are a good employee and if your customer likes you and believes that you add value, you can work from home or even sit at customer's place. There is one customer in canada where the customer loves the delivery folks and gave them place in their own location after the legacy HPE closed an office.

That is customer service and trust and loyalty.

Vacate pontiac and do save some dollars ! be smart DXC

@Ob6CXRq-2tyl - funny always when people are talking about Dixie.

In some countries a dixi stands for the temporary and removable toilets they put on festivals or public events. The company is so known we call this type of toilets by default a dixi.

well , it feels like we are really being fluxhed the drain too being an employee at DXC

@Ob6CXRq-2mac, so very true .. as expected, deception from the management at its best... in the meantime, the tops will be raking in $$ millions for the blood shed WFTs. They are more than ready for that upcoming Xmas bonus...meanwhile employees are out on the street looking for jobs to support their families...

The employee's are ALWAYS the victims. If the building was sold, definitely, the management would have been informed. They would also be clear that the lease will NOT be renewed after December. DXC need not look for another building, you can work from home if required.

How difficult is it for the DXC management to say "Happy Holidays" ... and no coming back in 2018 !!!

That's the culture of our very own DXC.

Ob6CXRq-1sne - think out of the box! Pontiac is full of useless gm management and their clueless cookie cutter employees - no free thinkers. Dixie doesn't want Pontiac. PR is cheaper. Everything is up for sale including usps. The goal is OFFSHORE!

The employee's are the victims. They are the one's that will be hurt if DXC decides to not look for another building. Trust me, it's the employee's I care about.

Ob6CXRq-1sne, it seemed you have more insight on the selling of the Pontiac building. Maybe the owners get enough insider information about DXC "screwing" with all the employees with massive WFR?? After all, what goes around comes around - karma!!

Stop making DXC out to be the victim!! The victims are the employees having to deal with "screw up" leadership...

I'm really curious where you are getting your information because no one has been told anything yet. Yes, it is common knowledge that the building was sold. The owner did it without even notifying DXC real-estate so it was a surprise to them. It was not DXC saying screw you to the employees. DXC has a lease on the building until December. Pontiac was supposed to be a low cost center going forward but now with the owner selling the building, no one knows what is going to happen. Just an FYI, there are some really talented people that work there.

Pontiac is the mecca of useless EDS idiots ! (read legacy EDS bums ). It is not being hateful, it is frustration with the legacy yahoos who ran this company to ground.

The sad thing is the new company entrusted some of the critical jobs with a couple of old cronies - read Eugene O'bum - running the cloud !

Ob6CXRq-1gbj, there were nuemerits posts in this forum mentioning the closure of the site.

By the way, beware that no one is "immuned" from the WFR. I was not part of Pontiac location. I was being pursued by DXC (former HPE) to join, I was WFR less than six months later. I regretted not accept the other offer thinking HPE "was" a better company.. oh Boy! Was I wrong!!!! So glad to be out of that mess nonetheless!!!
