At this time with the spotlight on management, the last thing they will do is make any major decisions that could impact their livelihood.

-2lgo - not asking for "daily comms from RL" (he's much too busy for such things as interfacing with the rabble that lines his pockets), but something more in the middle of the spectrum between "absolutely no communication whatsoever from management" and "daily comms". And not just from RL, but from every (sorry to say) unnecessary level of management between RL and the wellhead. us folk in the real world don't hear jack from anybody up the food chain but crickets -)

Ha, don't you know how hard it is to prepare a politically correct communication for employees? It has to go through minimum of 5 rounds of edits with the help of corp comms. Of course they don't want to waste time on that lol.
