Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

What to expect?

With how they laid off people in a very secretive manner on June 14, I really doubt the July 18 announcement will be for layoffs.

Remember, "impacted" (laid off) employees were emailed an invite the DAY BEFORE to join a conference call that was mandatory. No explanation, just be on the call.

Moments before the conference call those same soon to be laid off employees were sent notifications through text and email that a FedEx package would be arriving.

Making a big announcement for all to see would be contrary to the "feel good" kool aid shapiro is trying to get the claims dept to drink. And the other departments are even more clueless, exactly what upper management wants.

Again I'd be really surprised if anything like that happens in the upcoming announcement, when the next round of layoffs hit (I predict/guess in 4 quarter) employees will be blind sighted again.

Hi all,

I've posted on other threads as well, but I'd love to hear from you. I'm a business reporter at the Chicago Tribune and I'm trying to find out more about the Allstate layoffs. Email me, Ally Marotti, at amarotti@chicagotribune.com. Thanks and hope to talk soon.

How did people find out about a July 18th announcement? No knowledge of it, at that people are admitting to, in my office.

I've also heard that they're moving home office to Charlotte or Dallas.
