Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

We DO need SS

What? They are saying changes were made because nobody is referring to SS? I'm a PHC and I rely heavily on the expertise of SS. Leadership, why not just be honest and say it's a money thing, that they are a business and trying to squeeze everything they can out of employees? I would respect that more than the constant kook-aid dump.

Yes, this sounds like a flat out lie by Humana. I wonder who else will they find unnecessary soon?

That was because the ss role changed in the SNP, not because we weren't needed

So, I was an HCM RN with SNP and I left a few weeks ago for various reasons, but before I left we were expressly told we were NOT ALLOWED to task SS anymore. Which was in stark contrast to when I started and we were encouraged to task as much as possible. One of the reasons I left is that I had very little to offer patients. I didnt have time to search for food banks, resources for meds when they are in the donut hole and manage their diseases and still meet metric. If they are saying that SS were not NEEDED, it's a lie.

Thanks for the additional info. I'm so tired of the awful communication from leadership combined with all of their spin.

The SSs that were moved to HCMs were from Care Plus, whose program had cuts and I think was moved to Puerto Rico earlier this year (?). Stay Healthy and HCCP have since merged and are still getting referrals, with no updates on what the future will hold...
