Unable to plan your day with new role!

Ex HCM-SS here on this new ridiculous role as HCM I did not sign up for. Ok so one of my biggest frustrations is to not be able to somewhat plan my day. The orders to call this many Members, to do post d/c, then another list with more things is sent, then another order to call 5 more, and the lists increase as the day goes by and you get soooo overwhelmed since you don't know what to tackle first.

ANNOYING!!! And very frustrating to say the least.

Oooops. Kool-aid not Kook-aid, although I guess they both apply. :)

What? They are saying changes were made because nobody is referring to SS? I'm a PHC and I rely heavily on the expertise of SS. Leadership, why not just be honest and say it's a money thing, that they are a business and trying to squeeze everything they can out of employees? I would respect that more than the constant kook-aid dump.

And yes, full rosters of over 700 for each!

We were about 23 and 3 remained as SS's, not sure why because it is my understanding nobody is making referrals to SS's anymore??? So weird.

This started at the beginning of this year. Some of us are MSW, LSW's or LCSW's. A bit of everything.

Do me a little less "justice" Humana, before I lose my friggin' mind.

We had a COM say to us "Humana is not doing you justice if we are not pushing you to your full potential". What a load of crap

For the HCMSSs that moved to rosters, do you have clinical (mental health) licensure?

So sorry! Can I ask when you switched and how many of you there were? That explains why the nurses were told numbers were low due to "new hires" and they may beed to hand off some members soon. Do you allhave full rosters already?

Care Plus HCM-SS were all moved to HCMs. A few continued as SS's, not sure why and how that was decided, but the rest of us were sent to do such nonsense. There is no time to really help the members because you are concerned about the next call and if you will reach minimum metrics for that day. The stress is very high!!!

Which HCMSSs were moved to a roster and when?!?

HCM SS here- I actually like having a roster and keeping busy all day. True, my roster is 700 members but they only have to be contacted every 6 mos. so that's not that bad. I just try to keep a positive attitude and role with the changes when I start feeling stressed or feel like I'm getting behind. I know for me, having challenging work makes me feel productive and not get bored. I was a Case Manager in my previous position (not at Humana) so that's probably why I like this new role. Case management is very demanding work but it's also very rewarding I think. I guess everyone just has to decide if this is what they want to do or not. I think most of us are probably capable of being successful in this role, but each of us just has to decide whether we want to stay or not. Either way, I hope everyone finds happiness in what they do!

With over 700 members roster my only goal is to make my metric and if I do that with the priority calls I don't worry about the rest. I take my lunch, breaks and wellness hour. My health is more important than this job.

Are SSs moving to HCM roles? Is this throughout HAH, or only certain departments??

It is ridiculous. That is why so many of the HCM-RN are leaving too.

Of course we have rosters of over 700 Mbrs but the urgent lists come ALL day long with must call Mbrs.

I wish we had an emoji for a virtual slap. I don't condone violence of any kind but it's like how does leadership come up with so many things that make absolutely no sense at all.

That sounds very frustrating. So HCM SS no longer have a roster? Are you all working pdc surveys and calls for crd resources etc only now?

I agree, and everything is urgent! Everything needs to be done asap. Then add to that the audits when you made a mistake and you have to correct it. And then the email from your coach saying "whenever you have some free time, call the following"... really? There is never time for anything here, let alone free time???
