Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Greer was the stepping stone for really good managers...TJ Castle, John Head, plus more came from Greer. now its a sad place left to the dredges. push push push....nothing. we have nothing. we make nothing. But, we somehow still collect our paychecks. we scramble to keep busy, keep clean, 5s, look like a working shop. in the end...more nothing. i personally am envious of those who got away. we that are left are going to be pulled down by this sinking ship.

How many T55 engines do you think the Army needs? My guess is there is a depot with T55 engines stacked up like cord wood. Viet Nam era technology. There was a stretch during 80 and 90s where T55 was not produced. Got to find new applications, new customers or develop a better performing engine with new features. I thought T55 was built in Phx?

There used to be a time when Greer was a shining star, and a great place to work. Not any longer. Back when Greer was putting out 20+ T55s and 13 101s a month, time were good. But they (management) have used the T55 as a cash cow for way to long and pissed the customers off.

Many of the Techs at Greer are a talented and knowledgeable bunch of guys who want nothing more than to come in every day and have engines to work on, but all of the managers are poor at their very best, and would be unable to manage their way out of a wet paper bag, and they are clueless at bringing more, or different work into Greer.

If they don't get more work in there soon, its got to be inevitable that the doors will close.

In years past, during "skip level" meetings upper management executives have consistently communicated that they were "extremely disappointed" with Greer's performance.
