Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Rats fleeing the sinking ship in Greer!

The ship is going down in Greer, and the management rats are fleeing. Chief finance guy is leaving now.

Rumor coming out of Tulsa is that Greer is closing in August.

Does the finance guy know something they aren't telling everyone else?

It's not exactly easy to leave. You can easily find something worse with less pay but finding something significantly better with more pay takes times and luck. You think you can go to another company that won't do the same sh--? You are too old or too stupid to think that. They are all owned by walstreet. Welcome to corporate America.

Close Greer down! That site did nearly 400 million in early 2000's. Now it can barely get 60-70 million. Greer employees are shipped out to other Aero sites for weeks at a time to help with work-load and reduce so called "cost at Greer". Yet Hon is spending nearly 3 times the amount per employee by doing that. What a waste of money!

Nobody cares except the people that remain. All the deep Honeywell put employees through both past and present is unexplainable and Honeywell corp. says nothing and does nothing to refute it. If you still remain at Honeyhell, why? Too old or just too stupid to leave?

I was out back in March due to the WFH fiasco. I still get paid through Sept, with medical followed by retirement.

So good to be gone.

I was at the Phx. Airlane site.

Things are starting to get desperate. We are so far behind they could RIF the entire sky harbor site and still not catch up. Better dump your HON stock before they announce the numbers next month.

The whole Honeywell Aerospace ship is going down and the rats have been leaving for the past year, Greer, Rock Mount, Norcross, Anniston, Urbana, Ottawa, Clearwater, Deer Valley, Tulsa, and Tucson. The only ones left are the butt kissing members of the ALT and their site leader minions.

Greer is by no means a "jewel". That's somebody from Greer speaking without knowledge of the 100+ other sites and how they really compare.

It is possible to shut down Greer and re-qualify parts at another facility. The reason it takes so long to qualify changes at Greer is the testing is done at another site and Greer is put at the bottom of the list. No one wants to make changes at Greer. Keep everything stable or hide the fact that if a re qualification takes place it might not pass and then you have a bigger issue. I do believe Greer will shut down or the legacy portion of aerospace will be sold. I left Greer because of the shady management practices and the fact there is only limited advancement. It is somewhat easy to move up one level but you will never move into a manager role with the good old boy system upper management believes in. Also reviews are not all fair.

More likely to be sold or merged. See 6/23/17 post below "Signs of Layoffs Coming"

Greer is a jewel for Honeywell, where the money is made, this is fake news

the finance guy can't just find another job because he wants to? it has to be because of something potentially falsely bigger? it would be impossible to shut Greer down in 2 months time with the existing customer contracts in place, not to mention we're the sole source for several repairs. stop looking for something where there is nothing to be found

No way Greer is actually closing in August,, either OEM or R&O. Re-qualification of so many P/Ns elsewhere will take 1 to 2 years minimum. They might announce something in August, though.

Well, no Town Hall here in RM, just an HR meeting no one cared about. Here is something that may or may not have anything to do with a future sale. The white equipment #/asset # stickers on all the test equipment have been updated here. Some of these have been faded for years or were missing altogether. Thought it was funny that they have suddenly been updated now. Also saw people going around and checking these numbers.

People have been exiting Greer for a year now. Look at ME's and that turn over.

Closing? I doubt it as they have put capital into Greer (5m) so don't think they're closing.

Chairs set up for another Town Hall in RM, but no email or announcement yet about it. Just had one a couple weeks ago. Nothing seems to be announced anymore until the last minute.
