Ford is trying to cut work force - offering pension additions to get volunteers

FORD is looking to cut it's USA work force by offering incentives to leave, e.g. adding to the pension.

HON has requested volunteers for RIF in the past, but zero "incentive", no extra pay, no added years of service or age to the pension, and volunteer level has been low. Is that about to change for HON this year? (May 2017)

They are cutting travel, and postponing hiring. RIFs must be around the corner?

I worked in Detroit in the 90s and Ford (and the Ford family) are smart enough to know that RIFs don't have to destroy morale. So did Cliff Garrett back in the day. Clearly current H leadership figures that it doesn't matter.

Based on how Darius has handled things in the past, I don't think Honeywell will be increasing incentives for people to leave. His approach is more along the lines of "don't let the door hit you in the A$$ on the way out"
