Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

Blame the management, not the hard working employees

All the people who make the place run and actually do the work are blamed for the school's failures. The higher ups need to look at what they have done to the school's reputation by expanding rapidly and having absolutely no standards about quality. This has been a problem since well before the DOE was involved.

I remember the first time the CEO took a million dollar bonus, while no one got raises because we had to "tighten our belts." I've had multiple years of not getting raises after getting stellar performance reviews. We also had our 401k matching stop, despite it being one of the few perks that we still got from EDMC.

So this here @NSebc7d-lfy, could not agree more.

At the Art Institute in San Bernardino, they have laid off several full-time faculty -- some with more than ten years tenure.

Ironic that the Dreamcenter, which has worked so hard to aid the homeless, is now complicit in creating more homeless -- those employees who have lost their livelihoods.

I blame Goldman Sachs and all the others that have already left.

So, there. :p

That's right. I understand. Now you, regardless of your sterling reviews, will fall victim.

The "leaders" will now walk away with their golden parachutes for winding down the mess while you little twerp will get to take having worked for EDMC off your resume.

So my question is: how does it feel to have been conned?

Please... quit denying your complicity.
