Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Why they are hiring amidst layoffs

Do not want to come off like I know it all...sadly, it's all about get rid off higher pay older generation employees to save cost... if you are still trying to make senses or distinction between CSC, HPE, DXC or the future "abc" of merged Microfocus and remaining HPE... no need to do so if you see the writing on the wall = leadership wants to cut to boost up stocks anyway they can then fill in temps or younger new hires with cheap labour.. then you will not waste any energy but to plan for exit or stay put and wait for your "fate" to be determined by the top when they manage by the seat of their pants or skits for that matter..

I was WFR'd several months ago after 20+ years of service (and with no regrets). One of my former colleagues told me that nowadays no employer rewards loyalty. The so-called junior and cheap resources that will remain after us experienced people have left will soon realize that the ship is sinking fast, but will they stay on? The answer is No because pay increases won't occur nor will real training but there will be many p-ssed off clients.

As there is no job security any longer in the corporate world, employees should start demanding higher pay. Just like insurance, when the claims are more, the premium goes up. One should not work for a meager wage as that cannot take care of the layoff time.

So right on Hard worker. This world is horrible !! There is no loyalty, no trust, no honesty, no dedication, ,no work ethics, no hard work rewards....nothing. Just struggle. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in about 20 years. Such a pathetic turn we have taken.

The people are so pathetic, sad state loyalty. This sinking ship deserves to be sunk. Any folks trying to exit to GM or Ford or so other auto company is in for another rude awakening. Top heavy with loads of debt and problems. It's another slow death. Keep me away from all this crap. I love retirement and don't want to go back.

Hard Worker, your points are spot on. I can't disagree with anything that someone with my same first name states!

So the answer is out with the old and in with the new? I don't see that as an answer. I am in the "old". I have old technology and new technology experience. I am sitting here training newbies that can barely turn the computer on. Their attention span is that of a dead turnip and they listen even less. Good luck with all of the newbies that are so being praised for their willingness to work for such low rates. After all they can always move back in with their parents to offset the cost of life. After all their parents will need help too since they will no longer be able to afford medication or life in general with all of the cuts hitting the older folks. Good luck. I used to tell my kids work hard, go to college, you'll get ahead.....Not anymore. This world is horrible !! There is no loyalty, no trust, no honesty, no dedication, ,no work ethics, no hard work rewards....nothing. Just struggle. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in about 20 years. Such a pathetic turn we have taken.
