Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Is this the way to treat good and loyal workers?

From @NSFYtCu-1pcd, it is so disheartening to see how they did this.

Unfortunately this layoff that just occurred was done in a very impersonal and abrupt manner which is why I think so many people are upset. It wasn't based on performance, there was no prior warning. Basically a notice the day before to attend a conference call, then a brief 10 minute call to notify all those on the call have been laid off and the paperwork is on the way through FedEx. In the case of the recent layoffs they are letting employees work an additional 60 days after which they will get a severance. And that's pretty much it.

Layoffs were handled by higher ups in Chicago so even RCLs had no idea about the layoffs and were unable to give their people some kind of indication of what was to come.

Employees have not been cared for since Jerry Choate retired. It's all about the bottom line now.
