Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Layoff aka WFR aka Work Force Reduction List @ DXC (build the running list)

  1. Announced in monday in north america - roughly 400+ in US locations ; 20 + in Canadian locations

  2. Contrary to the normal two weeks notice - the new strategy is called "soft touch"

  3. Soft Touch means - declare monday - get their laptop on friday and kick them out .

  4. 2 weeks for every year - have the lawyers ready and you can get more if outside US.

4nwd, labor attorneys won't provide the immediate solution. Unfortunately... energy is better spent in seeking other job opportunities. There is a class action lawsuit filed against HP in August 2016- http://fortune.com/2016/08/29/hp-inc-hewlett-packard-enterprise-face-claims-of-age-discrimination/

The creation of DXC impacted the class action momentum. Yes, they are tricky and unethical at the top level. They spent more time to find ways how to screxxw the employees than putting in place strategy to help the organization in growth.

Looking back why the decision to hold off WFR before the spin merge? It is designed to get

away with having to be bounded by the old HP severance T&C. Maximum of severance to expect is 6 weeks for anyone over 15 years. Oh, by the way that includes 1 week working notice. Looking for another job is a much better option...if you can, get the meager severance package if no jobs offered.

Management with their hatchet men are working quickly for their bonuses. There will be a bloodbath in Q2. Don't hold out for your 8 weeks of severance they will screw you.

DXC was created & obviously assigned to carry out a massive WFR on behalf of HPE. I guess I never thought management would be so blatant in their disregard for employees. The eventual extent of the layoffs will reach 5000+ - which kind of explains the small packages. HPE severance package is 2X the DXC package.

In the US it's

Years of Service Severance Benefit

Up to 3 years 2 weeks

3 to 5 years 4 weeks

5 to 9 years 5 weeks

9 to 15 years 6 weeks

15 years or more 8 weeks maximum
