Been working for the company in Simi Valley for 6.5 years. I (we) got laid off last week. They always did their lay offs on Wednesday before 11:00am. For whatever reason my layoff was on a Tuesday, and I hear there is another layoff in July..

Multiple managers in gt&o called meetings in the afternoon to tell everyone that the "event" was over. I think everyone was really scared they were going to have someone call them or come by their desk with a "have a minute?" and walk into a conference room with HR and a pile of folders.
There are "events" scheduled each month throughout the year. Not every business unit has one every month though.
so far, just Tuesday. But you can be sure there is another run in September, another quarter end. That's how it goes.
