Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Address Verifications

Today is only June 5 and twice since June 1 my team has been asked to verify our addresses. First, in a team meeting our manager went through a report with all of our addresses. Next, we got an email about requesting address verification supporting documentation. We were asked for a copy of an electric bill or something else with our name and address shown. Does anyone have a clue why this is happening?

The are looking at the recent terror attacks in England where the Bank have many employees, remember ENACT? They want to be able to contact us. When it comes to laying off people that is already in the works. This is not it.

Don't read anything sinister into it -- they want to make sure everyone's info -- home and work location information up-to-date.

Now that may help some decisions down the road...but no fault in wanting clean data!

I am at another company but we recently went through a similar verification for benefits. I think it may be the latest audit trend.

..or maybe if you're not within a certain amount of miles within a certain officespace .....you'll be on the block. Still...just an outsider looking in

Sounds like they are about to whack people from undesirable locations. But I'm just an outsider.

It isn't just our team. The whole organization is getting verified, so you are saying there could be layoffs coming for 450+ people?

They must have all current critical information on your layoff documents
