Boeing is largely an union shop. While the union is not fun to deal with and they are costly, they do provide much better terms of separation and layoffs are more orderly.
People at Boeing know who will get cut, seniority and quality of work will play into any decision and the checks they cut are significantly better if compared to us.
With this being said, there are many other things that are better here, but when it comes to layoffs, Boeing is not in the same despicable league with us.
To the OP, it is obvious you have a cross to bear with conservative values. Boeing has no layoff / furlough record like Honeywell. People at Boeong actually like working there
