I've been wondering why our sales to Follett have been falling. Trying to reduce the stock levels. Great!
As I see it, Follett has to compete with Amazon and it can only do that through stock availability at the store. If I've got to wait until the next day I might as well buy from Amazon. Cheaper and saves me a visit to the store.
These are the same old issues from years ago. More proof that there have been zero contributions to enhance and improve processes via the C-suite. Are any of the VP's worth the investment? Ummmm... no. Get out now.
The problem we keep masking and no one wants to listen. The course materials team doesnt have a clue on how to design the buying guide. Until the buying guide is fixed we will never have the right inventory.
So, we all kept our books, did interstore transfers. Now, we run out of a title-no inventory at Warehouse, so we have to do interstore transfer request, checking CT for inventory at other locations. Send IST request for a special order book, wait for store to reply, they say NO, then start process all over again. Really efficient system.

Sounds like it's time to go make some friends in HR on the campus you work at and get a job with the school. Pretty easy to transfer from the bookstore world to something on campus. With how hard you already have to work for this clown show of a company you will easily shine on the other side.
Plus we are suppose to send out our books to others stores, losing sales in our store, spending labor, supplies & postage in our store. Wonderful.
