Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Leadership Changes and Bullying

How would you react when a new leader takes a global role and demands everyone send him an email directly about "if you were the president of the company"? This person proved multiple times to be a bully to previous employees and insulting to staff in front of large groups.

Do you respond and blow smoke not giving a honest answer?

Or respond honestly but then worry about retaliation?

Or just ignore knowing he is checking names off a list if responses he received (yes, that's true)?

I can't job hunt fast enough!

It's unfortunate that he has a history of bullying and treating employees disrespectfully, because on the surface I like the fact that a new business leader is asking employees for input on what they would do if they were in his shoes. It would be nice if he was sincere and used the feedback to implement new policies. I would also suggest responding with honest feedback and documenting all of your communication with him. I know some people that worked for him in one of his previous roles and some of the verbal (non-documented) communication that he had with them was not only inappropriate but probably would have been grounds for dismissal and a lawsuit. I wish you all the best no matter what you decide to do.

I'd respond in the times we now live. Make Honeywell great again. Keep jobs here, and on and on.

First thing I'd do as VP is not expect email replies back from anyone.

I'd send an email saying that I wouldn't bother the people that actually work with any more of these non-valie added emails

Can't provide many details on this site, or they will probably be deleted. I worked with him in the past and I understand your comment about not being able to job hunt fast enough. He probably has a list of names of people that didn't like, but had to deal with while he was running his last business. The people on that list will be gone as fast as the people he ran off when he had his last global role. He is not a good person, so he is a perfect fit for senior management. Ask around and you will get details. Good luck job hunting!!!

Sounds like a division of HBT. I would send him an honest answer and document it. Maybe you should write part of it in Russian. At least your answers will stand out.
