Avaya India CC director gone. The first wave hit.

I worked hand-in-hand with the development engineers in Pune and Bangalore for over 5 years. It was 5 years of almost constant disappointment and frustration.
I'd guess 75% of them were pretty useless and had no ability to get anything done on their own. I think the offices there just don't have a proper development culture and were unable to keep staff employed for more than a couple of years, so they never really had the in-depth expertise to do their job independently. Almost every time they'd agree to a development plan and then be unable to complete the work at all, let alone on schedule, even though they had hordes of designers on their team.
We could ask for a simple modification like the addition of a parameter to a function call so it could be passed through to another proc, and getting the change done would be impossible. They would claim there were procedural roadblocks, or they were too busy, or other excuses, and then when they finally got around to doing it at the last minute they would botch it up and we'd have to explain it again. Just one simple example of hundreds of interactions...
There were a handful of engineers there who had been there a long time and could do the work they said they would do. But not enough to make it a viable development group. I don't think it's a problem with Indian engineers, or even the people that were failing, I think the problem is the culture in the Indian Avaya offices.
I wouldn't feel too badly if they just closed the R&D centers there and let the people go find jobs they are better at doing. But maybe a change of the boss would change the atmosphere in the offices and get them working efficiently.

All dev will report to A sid.
CC is in the hands of a lucky kid in India.
RK is anytime better than PP. But good people doesn't want to work with Avaya anymore. Almost everyone is searching for job in India. All the best guys.
According to India mgmt internal resource Avaya CC director RK is fired however they officially declared as leaving due to his own personal reasons to avoid damages. One of main cause was one of senior tech manager was complaining abt him indirect way to upper US mgmt to grab that position. In SV organization already his friend grab director position in past even though he was not deserved.
NICE on they way.
He is going not because of ch11.
Reporting to a junior guy (PP) is the reason. At such large experience and capability working under a junior incapable PP was not in his ego.
PP anyways got free limelight and leadership role because he is expat from Germany else he would have been at Technical manager level.
Best of luck RK. I know you will go places in Nice.
I got offer too...
Good riddance. They are just as useless as their bosses in North America. They are good at playing the kiss-a-- games .
True news. PP gone.
Just a rumor. Talked to both PP and RK just now. They both are very much here.
Directors are just burden on this co.they must go
It's okay guys.. We don't need directors if we are following agile... We need some cool really good developers...
Was the director based out of pune or bangalore
