Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

No protection for lower level employees

Now that AIG is pretty much done with lay offs with management and has moved to lower level employees they are firing them instead of laying them off. Shows that AIG could care less for anyone but upper management. I was told to look out that management is being told to start the process of trying to fire as many employees as possible to save AIG from paying out a severance package.

AIG does not care about their career employees that worked so hard through the financial crisis. Word to the wise...if you haven't already started, get out and secure yourself a job NOW! You are simply a number...

Get out while you can, start job searching so you won't be blindsided like many were. All the good people were let go already, Hancock is bad news, reversing many things Benmoshe did to save the company. No loyalty to long term and faithful employees, shameful!

The friends and family plan seems to be the staffing model for IT as well. With each level 4, we get a few of their cronies to fill in the level 5s. The level 5s then bring in a few of their cronies to fill in the level 6s. We Now have 3 layers of cronyism is some areas.

Only useless management staff are left and all efficient workers are being let go. Management is placing their own friends and family in various depts and of course these will not get fired. Wake up Hancock or leave. Benmosche did whatever he could but this CEO is a good for nothing bloke

The protection employees have today is similar to that in 2008. Difference is much of the management at that time! was fired. Today not so, not to that extent. Management has been fired but replaced by fired Senior Management from TIAA and the names are public information. Not much anyone can do about it except spread the word in a meaningful way. Lot of unsuspecting people depend on AIG and they should not suffer.
