Thread regarding Follett layoffs

RM's

Is anyone's RM acting odd? Mine is practically absent. Haven't heard a peep in person in months. Rarely get emails. Seems especially odd not hearing during rush. Any thoughts? Just burnout like the rest of us maybe?

Mine has drummed up some nonsense about time fraud, made up lies that my trusted employees flatly denied, lambasted me in front of the school, tries to get my employees to report me for trivial nonsense. Here's the kicker. Never been written up or even evaluated for that matter. Region sales are down 13% and I'm the problem....

I agree. The GVP level is useless. We are suppose to stop what we are doing just to answer trival questions when they come to visit. Assign if you ask me. Just a freaking ego trip.

I like my RM, the GVP position is a waste of middle level management & could probably go if they want to save money.

I haven't seen my RM in months, and my GVP hasnt been here in years. We don't have weekly or even monthly huddles. My RM doesn't even respond to all emails and if he does, I get one sentence answers. Pretty disheartening. Seems like small stores like mine get very little support.

Careful with names, guys, this site doesn't allow it. Seen it before, admins will nuke the whole thread.

Mine had a meeting with the campus yesterday and didn't even bother to stop by.

If your LP guy was TP, he was let go.

Still makes me sick, he was such a good guy to work with.

Good to see Follett continuing to burn to the ground.

My RM has the most stores in our GVP group. I think that they have just become a glorified fire fighter. They still call from time to time and we have our weekly huddles but I've not seen them for a while now. There was that four week period that they couldn't travel in November to help with expenses but still, it would be nice to see them and not just hear about the fires that they are putting out at other campuses. Too many stores will equal burnout and I'm sure that there are hundreds of people out there looking to be an RM (sarcasm), the worst job in the company.

Moral has to be crap on their level as well. Between the lack of Follett investing in the development of internal talent for future needs and the experienced managers walking out the door for other opportunities many of them are stretched trying to cover all these stores in rush. The "leaders" in the tower have cut everything they could from the stores and corporate at this point so not much help for them to pull from. I feel for them as the only thing left to cut is the RM level in the next 60 days after another round of horrible rush sales. If your RM doesn't respond in February and March you know why...

Such a sad commentary. There once was a time when RM's supported stores and provided leadership. I feel for the store teams. So glad I am not subjected to the massive downhill flow of BS any more.

My old LP guy used to give me all the help my RM didn't. Once he left (or got laid off, I'm not sure what happened) I have nobody that even pretends to care.

How many gaps are RMs trying to fill? How many managers have left? Follett executive management have shot themselves in the foot. Cut pay, benefits, cut hours, kill bonuses, get rid off full time assistance....who the hell is gonna stay around for that?

Same. Rarely responds to emails, either.
