Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

See ya later Hon

I was notified today my WFH was denied. I quickly called HR, suspended my 401 contribitons and turned in my retirement paper work to be told 3 months min to get processed.

My hope is Honeywell doesn't Change the retirement policy.

To heck with them all? C U Honeywell,

More to come SURPRISE!

Good info that helps me plan. I was offered and accepted a march 1 date but was told I could separate anytime of course.

I put in for retirement in late July and was asked if I wanted a 10/1 or 11/1 start. Of course I picked the 10/1. Long story short I just received my first payment last week. It was for 4 months (Thus a 10/1 start) but still that seems like a very messed up process. Maybe they should use the almighty HOS BS to cut that process time to a couple weeks where it should be.

Many times HR will try and get away with whatever they can. Seems like everything is more guidelines than rules. Wouldn't be surprised if HR was rated on savings to Honeywell's bottom line.

Will do but I know people that didn't get through a pip that were fired and due to age, they got 26 weeks to keep them silent and it worked

you don't get severance if you get fired. if you have something lined up take them to task on this. HR no longer helps employees. I think it will be an uncomfortable waste of time.. Let us know how that goes.

I'd think that would give them "just cause" to fire me for not showing up which is fine if I get severance. Not sure if I would or not but at this point, what difference would it make?

I'm planning a mtg with HR but I don't expect much out of that

They want you available for the "shoulder tap" RIF....... I would quit if I were you. Maybe try coming in once or twice per week and WFH the rest of the time. Take them to task and see what they do.

Yeah me too. I'm 81.3 miles away and had done everything by the book. After being encouraged by leadership, I got HR approval as well as VP but to no avail I have to report to an office I have nothing to do at that facility, I've never been there and know no one, just so I can swipe in and sit in a cube to do exactly what I did remote. I work with sites all over the world but I have nothing to do with the site I've been assigned to.

Go figure

Before long ALT will have to minions to tread on. I did the last thing last March after HI management denied my VRIF only to put me on a PIP. I put in for retirement and shortly after announced to the team during the tier meeting the following Monday that I would retire the end of the month. Felt bad for my peers but took great satisfaction in washing the sheet eating grin of my skin head manager's face.
