Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Any new info on furloughs throughout Q1?

I have read a few posts here saying that the RIF is still happening. They did not address "cost saving" measures in any way during the global town meeting although we know this is still going on. What's the latest on furloughs and the inconsistencies with the WFH policy? I know of several employees still working from home with no disciplinary action from mgmt.

CEO busts a Site in Florida st 4:30 PM and asked "where is everyone" the person walking him around responded something like it's Friday plus lots of people work remote. Thus the survey to all managers how many people are working from home and at what frequency?

That's how we got where we're at.

What's the story with an angry CEO about WFH? I can't seem to find a thread about it.

of course it is... this is how to manage your long term liability of senior employees with pensions to replace them with younger new hires with no benefits or pension. It also make it easier to sell/transfer sites to 3rd parties like they did in Tucson & Toronto with Celestica. I heard first hand that when they announced the Celestica take over at Tucson everyone clapped and cheered. LoL Actually Celestica has better benefits than Honeywell.

I think denying WFH, even when people had written agreements and manager approvals, is just a way to force people to quit and not pay them severance and it was a consequence of an angry CEO last August, which was not the fault of the sites involved.

the job functions that were ok to WFH was communicated. Nothing to do with distance from plant. Many of these complainer posts just say "I know many people that WFH" They already told us the scoop.. so quit beating a dead horse. We all hate it.. maybe things will go back to normal after DC goes away in April. Seem like they want everyone physically reporting to work so they can "tap them on the shoulder" for RIF

My manager denied the 50 mile radius rumor. I'm about 85 miles, and commute time was no exception.

WFH will be applied equally to all employees by the end of January and this is being communicated to all impacted individuals within the week. There will be very few exceptions. Expect the employee exodus to continue.

Many VP's told their teams to just stand down on the whole WFH craze/reshuffle and just press on with business as usual

The WFH policy is being implemented as unfairly as the vacation policy, some employees get as much vacation as they want, others are restricted and the approvals do not match fairness

Need to file lawsuits

It's been up to the managers to approve WFH. Many groups have members from multiple sites and never see each other anyway. I would assume for those groups, the managers have determined that WFH is still feasible/acceptable.

Rumor is WFH criteria is/was a radius of 50 mikes from any Hon facility. That's a rumor and not confirmed but I too know people if the Phx area working from home as well as other states.
