I got laid off and couldn't thank you enough to the VP for making it happen and giving me a severance that would allow me to invest (should of seen the look on his face- PRICELESS ) . You know you pissed em off when your ex-colleagues confirm they talking sh-- about you and people you supported while I wake up at 9am stress free.
fast forward, I've secured new job which was lesser title than previous and provided me with 15-20% pay bump even in this rough period. Imagine that.
What my point: don't settle for mediocre. KNOW.YOUR.VALUE. Don't settle in fear that you can't get another job. ruffle some feathers and seek new opportunities, They are out there and you have certain advantage than the one who is in transition. I couldn't be more blessed to have Schlumberger name on my resume. Make HR life miserable hell and make your life better!
Your organization is happy to keep you and keep you blinded that you're worth less. I hope you choose to venture out and explore new opportunities. The biggest loser is the one who gets a 'title' promo with more responsibilities and gets chomped on pay because they are using your fear while boosting your ego
Good-luck to all; God bless Schlumberger and you fine folks
