Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

So if Honeywell is doing furloughs and layoffs due to Aerospace market conditions..

Then why did I get contacted by a recruiter from Pratt and Whitney asking that I come in for an interview with them. Here is a quote verbatim from the email:

"According to Robert Leduc, our President, we have the biggest backlog since World War II- about $1 trillion of business. We need to hire 25,000 people worldwide in the next decade."

So what's the real deal Honeywell ALT? Furloughs and layoffs due to market conditions? Or more likely leaning us out to sell us off...

Certain Honeywell Facilities in Aerospace are doing poorly while there are a few that are doing well. My plant is doing extremely well but we were still put through the furloughs and layoffs (Mangers who had less 5 or so reports were let go in our facility and groups were combined). Our plant is still able to hire but it is very difficult. Our sites should be managed locally instead of by one idiot accountant at the top. Laying people off at our site, or any site, when they are expanding to meet demand is completely ridiculous. Shoot yourself in the foot anyone?

Or, survival of the fittest/smartest. Good luck trying to assign those labels to Honeywell's ALT.

The real deal is in any kind of markets; if some goes down or slow, means the other goes up because of better performances: product, services..... to name a few.

Pick the right one to be winner.
