As a former employee of 10 years it is sad to say AIG has fallen from its prior glory days. Even as AIG focus was on cost containment and savings Was a priority, the human element was lost. I know first hand as I was able to save AIG over $ 1 million dollar s in 2016 through collaboration with various business partners I Was giving a pat on the back and a pink slip in Aug of 2016. This is why morale is down drastically. You put your all in and they let you go. Amazing. Hey management wake up. No one is leaving without a sevrence package unless it is a great new opportunity. People want what they are do, so don't think you're getting off easy. A sad sad sad 7 years for AIG

I wonder when the trend of companies hiring CEOs Without a Clue will end.

The company lets talent go and keeps people who aren't leaders or effective managers.

The great benefit however has been the chance for people to move on, disperse out into the economy and grow other businesses, just not its own.

I am a former employer and saw 1st hand that employees were nothing more than an expense to management. I am not a fan of current management and think that Icahn's idea to split the company up may be what is best. At the very least the 3 entities would need 3 IT, HR, legal, and other required departments that can lead to competition for hiring eligible candidates.

I worked as a professional for 13 years at AIG.

AIG was a great company to work for... until competent professional managers in their 50's and 60's were replaced by incompetent men in their 30's.

The accountants saved the company money on salaries and healthcare...but lost direction and guidance...and that destroyed the company!

I work at AIG and I can personally tell you moral is very low. I used to feel a sense of pride working here, but it's now about try to keep the job as long as I can, get a pay check and wait for the next the opportunity to bust out of here. I dislike the new management team. They litterally came in this spring and told everybody it's no longer about you and your opinion means nothing to us. It's shut up, your views don't matter, you're just a number to us. I count my blessing I'm still here because one thing they do well are compensation and benefits.
