ORGANIZATION ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Aerospace Colleague:

Carey Smith, President of Defense & Space (D&S), has elected to leave the company to pursue another opportunity outside of Honeywell.

Carey has been a respected member of the Aerospace Leadership Team leading our D&S organization in supporting our critical customers globally including the United States Department of Defense, NASA, and government agencies and contractors worldwide. Prior to this role, Carey made significant contributions leading our former Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc. (HTSI) business. I want to sincerely thank Carey for her hard work and dedication during her time with Honeywell.

Tomorrow will be Carey’s last day. Tom Hart, Vice President, Defense Aftermarket Americas, will serve as interim leader for D&S until a new leader is announced soon.

Please join me in thanking Carey for her service to Honeywell and wishing her all the best in the future, along with giving Tom your full support.

Tim Mahoney

Does anyone know if Robert “Bob” Smith used to go by the name of Robert Meya? Did he change his name? I used to know someone that worked for Honeywell named Robert Meya and I believe it’s Bob Smith now... any information would be helpful.

Carey was heavily recruited by Parsons and she was a catch for them. Good going Carey!

She's one smart and insightful leader, and her customer service views are right on the money. Sorry to see that name leave. Expect a bright future ahead for this one and her businesses, wherever they are.

If she had gotten fired, why would Tim MaCrony send out the notice while she still worked there? That hasn't ever happened before. I think she left on her own accord.

Carey is my hero. Extremely smart person who said enough is enough and found away to break the glass ceiling beyond the boys club that is Honeyhell. Tim is just now experiencing the floodgates of really talented people leaving Hades looking for companies that truly appreciate great talent.

Mike Madsen sabotaged Carey Smith. He purposely pushed out higher revenue units, usually commercial, over DPAS rated orders killing Carey's business. ALT did not care because it increase monthly and quarterly revenue with the higher priced commercial items.

Violating DPAS regulations will be blamed on the peons in ISC. Madsen will claim no one told him and they will fine and fire thecpeons.

The first post is accurate. Chairman and CEO decided a change was required after reviewing the latest D&S results. There was a significant miss in meeting revenue.

Oh please, Madsen is a socio pathic idiot. Wasn't HE the one running D&S the last few years? Then flips on Carey in the CPO role. She walked due to the BS. And HON is a old lab waiting to be put down, not a big dog anymore.

Perhaps Carey was tired of bumping her head against the glass ceiling that is Honeywell. 1 Million dollars is a bit overstated for her golden parachute. She was an outsider and not a member of the exclusive pig class of Dave, Tim and Bob. Despite the EE0 rhetoric Honeywell favors testerone driven males in leadership roles not unlike our new president (Trump).

I'm wondering what service we should be thanking her for... Please provide info... Maybe Lockheed will take her back... NOT...

No one walks away from a million dollar a year job... They get canned. Look at the track record. Destroying HTSI, once a billion dollar sold for $260M... Same thing happening at DS, excuses with no results.

She was asked to leave, or at least, it was made obvious to her that her time was limited.

Her departure true reason may never be known. One thing I know for sure is there's always some kind of employment agreement or golden parachute for individual at her level. Which most or all of us don't.

If she got a position with a direct competitor then they might not have have accepted her notice. (And still paid for her two weeks.) Some corporations have that policy.

It looks like Carey is a viewer of this site and is following the exact suggestions here that as soon as offer received then quit with no notice to max out the revenge to Honeywell.

Good job Carey! I know you can see this post.

The Chairman and CEO decided after reviewing the President of D&S recent results that a immediate separation of employee from employer was necessary.
