Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Good Bye Honeywell

I turned in my notice today. Man that felt good! I have to say thank you to Honeywell. If it weren't for the lay-offs, the furloughs, cancelling my pension, messing with Dental Insurance, cutting MIP and basically treating me (us) like crap, I would have never started job hunting and would never have landed my new job at a BIG dot com and wouldn't be more than doubling my salary (newsflash - Honeywell pays peanuts). The jobs are out there guys. Be aggressive, market yourself and you can escape the sad company that is spiraling downward. Take care everyone!

I left 1 year ago. I spent 4 miserable painful years at Honeywell Aerospace and constantly was lied to by management about the aerospace sector down turn. It is a hell of a lot better w the new company. I got a 20k raise and over $50k moving package. Get the F out of that place!

I got out of PMT recently and I'll tell you what, it felt AMAZING to write that email to my boss and sleep in the next day. Taking away WFH, terrible benefits, INSANE work expectations, low morale... I think not. Screw you Honeywell.

PMO in Tempe. I am out by choice too. Doesn't really matter where you are....if you are high performer with marketable skills, you'll land on your feet alright outside of HON.

FMS in Air Transport - Deer Valley - Why does it matter?

I got out of phx engines. I was tired of doing 9 hrs in the office and 2 to 4 at home every night, only to be told WFH was going away. I didn't want to be one of the high performers left to take on more responsibilitit's to cover the jobs of those RIF'd. There'should a limit!

Glad things worked out for you!! Why can't you post your site and functional group? Many people believe that this post is a plant to encourage people to quit without a severance package. Help us out guys!!

I'm out too for a raise, better AND cheaper benefits, and a bigger bonus that actually pays. I was one of the posters that got flamed on here for not caring about Honeywell when it's obvious that they don't care about me. If anyone doesn't believe this post is true, then enjoy your career at HON ;)

Chances of getting approved for VRIF for block 1, 2 & 4 performer is very low. Requires VP approval. Block 5 is a maybe, and lower blocks have good shots of getting the VRIF. The remaining high performers will take on more work with impossible goals, and will be forced to resign due to stress and sickness. My recommendation is if you have a low-stress job, just coast and milk the company for the pay and benefits remaining. Clock in you 8-Hr day with no OT, block out your calendars on non-core 8-5 hrs, take long lunch and work in a workout at your site fitness center (if there's one). Break away during workdays to keep up with your medical and dental checkups. Build your network at Honeywell while you still can, recognize teammates with Bravos within your authority (before it's gone). If you are top performer with a high stress job, run now!! I am lucky to be out. Best of luck to everyone!!

After getting the run around from my director this week in regards to my self nom for RIF I decided to resigned. I'm block 1 and was told it is highly unlikely leadership will approve. I have another firm waiting for me so it's time to go. Wish you all the best no matter what you decide.

Congrats. To those who think these posts are fake you're wrong. Many great people are leaving after the debacle this past year has been and taking their skills with them. These people are getting salary increases and better benefits. Good for them. So what if you don't get severance pay and they want you to leave because you will be better off for moving on. I am also looking and hope to join your ranks next year. Think it is hard to make DC's profit targets now then just wait until all that key talent says goodbye.

If this new Dot Com job is for real, then tell us what the name of the company is and where it's located.

I wish you good luck at your new place... I volunteered for the layoff and am truly hoping I get selected; if not, I'm still giving myself the boot. These jerks up top will NOT take advantage of us, or me at least!

I so wish I could join you. I have been looking for a new job for so long and can't wait to be able to say good by to Honeywell. The problem is in this point of my life, I really don't want to move. Good luck on the new job and enjoy your new life free of this mismanaged h_ _l hole. I'm so stressed out over work that I can't sleep so I am penning this post at 12:48 AM in the morning. :(

I've personally known a few to have made the successful transition to the real world. It's not made up. Honeywell is a sad sad rep of what is really out there. It's weird how people have thought this was a good place to work for so long...

Wow - saying my post is fake? That's sad. With an attitude like that you should stick around and take everything they give you with a smile on your face. Honeywell doesn't need to make up posts to get people to leave. They have done plenty and will do more to everyone. My intention was to encourage you guys that there is life beyond Honeywell. good luck my cynical ex-colleague.....

Hmmmmmm, if I was Honeywell, and I was trying to get people to jump ship so that the company could pay as little severance as possible, I'd create a bunch of fake posts to encourage people to quit. What does that tell me? It tells me they have RIF deadlines looming and whoever is managing that get's a bonus for every dime Honeywell does NOT have to spend to get rid of people. So, nice try. I'm going to stick around for a bit. The jobs will still be there when my severance runs out, but then I'll have some time to actually improve my skills for my next job, rather than just jump from here to there directly.

Congrats to you! I got out last Friday as well. Abandon the Titanic! Life is better outside. Expect a mass exodus of top performers from HON i the next a few months...a real brain drain for HON!!
