Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

RIF tomorrow?

Rumor is that RIF is happening tomorrow and my manager scheduled a meeting with me tomorrow out of the blue. She is not known to do that. Sounds suspicious to me...

So has anyone heard if Voluntary Rifs have begun?

How about involuntary?

If yes let us know the site.

Still seems a short turnaround time for HR and Legal but maybe they have used Six Sigma to improve the process and put it into HOS.

You're right. It won't be a blip on his radar but I'll sleep better knowing I caused a loss of revenue which DOES affect him.

You are fantastically delusional if you think one individual quitting without notice (or why not 100) will even be a blip on Cote's radar.

@KmyUMK9-2umt you'd be whining too if you were getting fcked like we are. Don't worry though, me and the rest of the people keeping AERO running are either shutting down, leaving, or retiring. Soon your fate will be in the hands of KBR, Infosys and Keuhne&Nagel.

Have fun with that.

Irony of ironies....the worst performers, whether voluntary or involuntary, gets the benefit of layoff packages, and the best can be denied, sometimes, several times over. The s---s to high heaven!

As a former Honeywell employee with more tha 10 years of work in HI I can honestly say it's the worst company I have ever worked for. When I finally said "enough" it was the best decision I have ever made. After years of Furloughs, RIFs, salary reductions, no merit increases and no budgets for the most common things, Honeywell s---s!

If coworkers don't like it, they can leave too. Blame leadership.

2 weeks notice is a privilege not a right.

cop it out however you want, but you end up being the bigger tool in this picture. it's sad just how much you let this affect you. at the end of the day, this job isn't that bad, the benefits aren't all that better anywhere else, and your perceived butthurt is only hurting yourself.

Again. There is no difference. My leaving with no notice DOES hurt the bottom line whether you think it does or not. Either way, my co workers unfortunately get the shaft but that is how HON wants it. Its every man for himself, you can thank Dave and Timmy baloney for that.

so just to put it in context, the people you are screwing over by not giving 2 weeks isn't Cote or any of the VP's or upper management. the people you screw over are the people in the trenches with you, who just because you decided to behave like a child now have to carry your load without maybe fully knowing what you do or how you do it. management doesn't care, they just want the load carried. hate upper management all you want, but remember your "little people" co-workers when you run off with your hissy fit

Ok tell me then. What is the difference in workload to your peers and team if you leave or you are RIFd?

RIFd means you are not replaced. When you quit you can be backfilled.

Tell me again which is worse? Both are unexpected, one is permanent.

Think hard.

Yeeesss,, let the anger flow through you...... anger turns to hate and leads to the dark side,

2 wks is for your hand off to team mates and mgr, the ones who will struggle when your gone. Cotex is still eating caviar, and you are a mere fart in a tornado of wind to him.

@1HQN. There it is again!! Please can someone explain to me why respect and decency is only a 1 way street? Why is it OK for HON to treat me like sht, but when I speak about it, now IM some jerk off with no decency. I'm really struggling to understand this logic.

A co worker volunteered and was denied, so she gave her two weeks even though I told her she should show HON the same courtesy it shows us. Walk up to HR, tap them on the shoulder and say here's my badge, I quit. I literally cannot wait till i can do that. I'm want to find Timmy the phoney baloney and put my middle finger im his face as i walk out.

Common decency- to your fellow employees and first line supervisor (the people who'll be hurt by you ditching out). You think cote is affected by what you do?

I never pictured myself making a case for common decency to someone other than my own kids.

Yikes... with how many people seeming to feel about this place and posting that they volunteered, it makes me wonder if they have too many volunteers and if I will still be considered to be laid off (also a volunteer).

I haven't heard anything yet, but the stress of the continuous furloughs and RIFs, knowing this is going on through 2017 at least, is really too much. I volunteered for the RIF. It is scary, but I am just emotionally drained. I hate having a bad attitude, but when you feel like your efforts make no difference, it is really hard to manufacture enthusiasm. I am willing to start over somewhere else. But, the two week notice is about my integrity, not a reflection on how I feel about the company. I will still offer that, if it comes to leaving the company for another job. But, from what I have seen, they have just been walking people out the door anyway.

Sad to hear all this but it certainly doesn't surprise me. I got out in '12 after more than 25 years. The last 5 years of psychological and economic abuse would have made the North Koreans proud. I quit and called it retirement. I didn't even wait to be fired or RIF'd or Headcount debited or whatever they like to call it. No severance. There is life after MoneyHell. Good luck to all.

If you already have a job lined up, one day notice is more than enough for this company. It deserves far less.

I cannot take this stress in the place. Letters going out asking you to retire. Furlough rumors. The stress is killing me . My husband and I both work at Honeywell which makes it worse. Do you leave and stick it out after 20 years. Do you risk it and get another job less pay. I don't know what to do anymore.

It is sad. It's sad that the leadersht team is made up of greedy dipshts who don't care about the company, the employees or anything else but themselves.

There are people at this company who have devoted almost their entire lives to this place. They gave their blood, sweat and tears and now how are they being repaid? By getting tossed out onto the street. Their jobs being sent out of the country to emerging markets. And why? Because HON doesnt make enough BILLIONS. How many billions are enough? Is 20Billion that much better than 19.8Billion? HON is destroying lives for no reason other than Daveyboy is obsessed with keeping the stockprice artificially high. These are people with families who rely on them, mortgages to pay, college tuition payments, etc.

I hear things like give HON the decency of a 2 week notice and just keep accepting what they're doing to you by keeping your head up and working hard. Well, guess what folks, that's not going to happen. Employees were hired under a set of expectations. Those are now being changed by HON. They want to take, take, and take and then they have the goddamn balls to expect decency and the same productivity? To that I say, Fck you. Respect is a two way street. Treat me well and I'll treat you the same or better. I was working 60hours/week from home. Take WFH away? Ok sure. 8 hours in the office and thats it! Fck You. More furloughs coming? Fck you! Just now that the more furloughs we have the slower i work and I don't give two shtting shts about what happens to HON.

Let me also add, I have a GREAT attorufe when I'm not being taken advantage of and bent over a barrel. When you start f---ing with my livelihood, take benefits from me whike expecting increased productivity? You take money fron me and give it to that jerkoff Dave cote and wall street? My attitude turns into FCK YOU.

Common decency?? HON has no decency so why should they get it from me? By your logic, it's ok to treat employees like a piggy bank to pay wall street and dave cote because they pay severance? A severance which I might add is being slowly eliminated.

If you read and understood my post, my scenario indicated you already had another job so there was no fear of HON telling your next employer you did exactly what they have ZERO problem doing to YOU. Greed will be the end of this company. Cote is just a greedy, scumbag goombah so no, I have absolutely zero reservations leaving HON out to dry. This is what you get when you abuse employees.

KmyUMK9-1vyq "don't give 2 week notice due to shoulder tap rifs"

When you get riffed, they pay you a severance package. Pay for no work. There's no comparison between that and the common decency 2-week notice when quitting.

So after ditching without notice, should we bring no references when applying for future jobs? Or just risk potential future employers finding out about our poor attitudes? Maybe they'll understand when we tell them "how mean HON was to us."

I took every single personal item home. No pictures, no chotchkies, nothing. If you saw my desk you'd think it was an empty cube, except for the laptop permanently locked to the desk. I don't take it home anymore after davey threw her tantrum and blocked working from home. But I digress. As far as I know, ThanksRIFing starts tomorrow at Sky Harbor. It's a huge bummer those affected won't see the completion of the outside courtyard area.

I am not aware of any shoulder tap RIFs planned for DV this week. I do know that the affected folks have already been identified and the legal reviews have been completed. Managers are now waiting for the green light to go ahead with the RIFs. As one of those managers, I have not yet been notified.

Tomorrow is the start of voluntary RIFs at sky harbor. Thursday and Friday are the shoulder tap RIFs. The shoulder tap RIFs are why no one should ever give this company a 2 week notice. When you find another job, just wait till your last day then tell your manager you quit effective today. Let HON figure out how to backfill you (if they even bother). Also remember to destroy all your standard work before you leave.
