Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

BK still having it his way

As someone who is still trying to recover from the small "job performance/job validity" layoffs of 2015 (there's nothing like working two part-time, no-benefit jobs for 65 hours a week at 60 percent of your old salary -- everyone should try it!), I offer the following thought:

One of the big factors the CEO is using for these layoffs, old and new, is job performance. He's let a lot of good people go because they weren't meeting the company's expectations, particularly in terms of personal growth (or so he says). Yet Intel as a whole, under Brian Krzanich's watch, has posted minimal gains in market share and profitability. That's a direct reflection of how the CEO is doing his job. So...given the set of parameters he's established for job retention, he should be firing himself.

But, as Mel Brooks once said, "It's good to be the king." Or perhaps it should simply be, "Do as I say...not as I do."

I notice, too, that he recently sold his Folsom-area home. Maybe's he's lost his taste for apples. Or he sees an Apple in his future...

To 'The Living Dead', so sorry to hear you're still struggling. Truly respect the effort you're putting in to work so hard & obviously you were not deadwood but Intel's loss!

What goes around comes around, both to Intel and the various trolls on this site.

Hang in there and I hope things improve for you soon. I too am still looking for work 6 months after ISP. Good news is I am getting interviews and hope to find something soon.

You can't believe anything BK says in terms of future of the company. He'll continue to put up smoke screens while working to ACT17 and ACT18.

BK is a good factory FSM manager, he has much energy like many of them to whip them 7x24 the poor souls in the factory working like slaves.

He is most certainly not brilliant nor a visionary leader who can process complex business environment and make the right calls. We can already see that can't we!

All the reviews from TA and senior VPs in ARs can't be turned into a turnaround or faked as a real turnaround. When you fall back to parroting already identified trends and hot fashionable things as Intel strategy it is destined to fail. Why, because intel is big slow and costly and simply can't competed when business moves fast and has leans and hungry competitors.

BoD and CEO have all the blame at the lost opportunities the past 10 years.

No company had had such a a technology lead, so much profit, and so much opportunity and squander it all!

Intel is totally BKed

BK never deserved any of these promotions. He's treated people horribly his whole career, often publicly humiliating people using offensive language which would have gotten people fired in an other reputable company. He's been easily outclassed by other CEOs, had no decency, no new ideas for company growth, simply decides to cut expenses since he has no experience in actually growing revenues, is not a visionary. With him at the helm, Intel is going down. The data and direct results are there for the world to see. I agree that it was a stupid decision to elevate this clown to this position. A waste of the last 4 years.
