We had a couple of phenomenal RCG's a couple of years ago. Ones you could tell were on the PE/fellow fast track as they were putting out results comparable to grade 8's right out of college.
Fast forward to today, they're both long gone (grad school, Google). I was good friends with one, he always talked about the company going in the wrong direction, the horrible quality of managers, how people were mistreated and how untrustworthy BK was. He hated how things were done totally incorrectly just so that it looked better on focal (reinventing the wheel instead of re-using one).
One big thing he hated was how much red tape there was to do the smallest thing and then that you were expected to sacrifice work/life balance to make up for all the waste. He loved doing his actual work, but admitted that he was only given 2 hours a day to do it. Our manager was the "all hands in every meeting" type and it became a meme - we figured we'd all attend everybodys' focal results.
So he left, and the other guy left for similar reasons. Thanks to sites like this, potential hires are seeing stories like this and staying away. So no, I don't see us attracting top talent until we get a major cultural change (and I don't mean more bathrooms).
