Q - work from home change policy

What happened to work from home change policy?

Is it being enforced?

I see no one was approved

But a lot of people not following it

So can they catch you if you continue working from home assuming your manager is ok with it

Unfortunately, the rules have not been defined. I was told that I needed to come in but after several hours I could go back home and work from there. What is the exact policy?

How do you report a worker and manager anonymously that is blatenly not following the rules of remote workers. Out of 8 people, only three including myself are following the rules and we have the longest commutes. Is there an 800 number?

We just need to s--- it up and drive in. Here's what you do: don't work a minute over 8 hours! Yea, your review might suffer but honestly, who cares; no one is getting raises in 2017 and probably none in 2018 so HON has no leverage there. I don't care if I get 5s from now on; it doesn't matter to me one bit. I do as little as possible and sometimes I purposely wait a day or two to answer emails because who gives a fck anymore.

VPN does not work reliably now. Frequent disconnects and drops. Suspect Honeywell IT is causing this at random to discourage WFH. With manager approval, some people can WFH due to family or meeting someone to work at your house fixing stuff (general contractor).

Amazing speculation

Some people are so ignorant

Enjoy your lousy day to day task that you hate

I enjoy my job be it from home or at the site

Stolen from another thread on here:

"Hey, guy who wants to know if he can keep working from home because 'a lot of people (are) not following' the new standards: it's people like you, who think they are smarter than everyone else and that the rules don't apply to them, that ruined WFH for the rest of us. Thank you so much for that! But the good news is, anyone who chooses to blatantly disregard the new policy can be terminated for employee misconduct. What's even better is that employers don't give you severance, and you are not eligible for unemployment, when you are fired for conduct violations. So even though I don't agree with the new policy, I do agree with firing anyone who thinks they can work from home when every other employee has to come in."

Hope Bloatey and Crony wish you a merry RIF-mas, you insubordinate fool.

Why on earth would you go to work without you laptop or phone? To do what? You couldn't stand out in the shop and use their PC's. Every person I see now reporting to work is on their laptop working away. That is a really dumb response. How long could you drive into the plant and leave your laptop at home?

But if we go to work and keep laptop home

your theory becomes false

You wouldn't layoff people that never come to the office. They want everyone in the plant so they can pick up your laptop and phone on the spot when they tell you Merry RIF-mas.

Sites do not need a badge reader. It is very easy to see and report your IP address when you log in on your laptop. You can't rage against the machine.

a few guards at near min. wage... no big deal in the whole scheme of things and they are contract not Honeywell employees.

'HON installing card readers in all their facilities would be a COST to the company that takes money out of the shareholders pockets.'

And you think paying multiple guards in multiple locations at multiple sites is putting money back into the shareholders pockets? Installing badge readers is a one time expense. Honeywell pays all of those guards every two weeks.

Very easy to run a report that identifies your Anyconnect IP address. or the site WIFI. Torrance has badge readers and guards.

WFM exceptions for long distance workers is still not finalized. This is impacting peoples lives that live out of state. They are losing their jobs if they do not move. It is looking like they will not be approved. People that can drive into their office should not even start to complain. Try being given the option to lose your job or sell your house and relocate in just a few weeks time.

If your site has guards instead of badge-readers, Honeywell has to pay those guards. After the initial investment of the badge-readers, there is little to no cost for them. Say goodbye to your guards and hello to your badge-readers!

I'm being told all requests go through several review loops and then they all go to Cote. I was told he will not approve even one that is for employee convenience contrary to what Mehoney said yesterday.

I'm still editing for global real estate to find me a cube. I was told a week or so and we'll have the answer

Our site doesn't work that way, you just

show it to the gaurd when you get in.

They don't have a badge reader or scanner to get into the buliding. Same when you exit.

So does that mean if a manager is ok then we can get away it

confirming badge in/out reports are being run and reviewed for each site

This is not a managers discretion decision. Even if a manager is OK with it and is still allowing people to continue remote, I would think the manager could get in a bit of trouble for not enforcing the policy.

According to my manager, there will be badge-in audits and VPN checks. At least at Sky Harbor, people are following it. Areas that used to be empty are now full.
