Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Microsoft eyeing Avaya UC and Networking.

Avayan's not going with CC business shouldn't worry because so far Microsoft has offered the best deal for both UC and Networking business. Nadella doesn't want to remain behind in competing with Cisco and for Microsoft, getting Avaya onboard would be the easiest deal.

Why would MS want to be saddled with the networking piece now. Even if they want it, they can get it under chapter 11 when it is cheaper. MS is not a networking company and never will be.

Competition is increasing between Microsoft and Cisco in the collaboration market. Microsoft's investment in Skype is one of the example of Microsoft competing with Cisco. Microsoft will gain huge market share if they buy Avaya UC as well as Networking after bankruptcy.

There are no buyers for Avaya networking especially not MS and especially not with Brocades networking actively for sale.

Same people have been tellin KJK and cabinet they will make networking a Billion dollar business for years, it is around 200M. As long as leadership changes regularily (and it does) they can spew same BS.

Rubbish. Microsoft is never going to be in the networking business and has zero interest in competing with Cisco. What a moron,
