Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

2017 policy changes are now loaded in the HR intranet

They are all there. Not sure why they loaded and didn't send out a communication before hand. Guess they thought we were too stupid to go find it if they thought they would sneak one over in us.

Disgraceful I'd say but yet what's new?

I heard an email went out with a list of the possible additional 5 holidays. Anyone that received this email care to share with us?

• Vacation: Exempt employees will have the ability and flexibility to schedule vacation with their manager based on business priorities and personal needs, without pre-set maximums. For nonexempt employees, we are standardizing the vacation schedule based on years of service. Vacation changes, with small exceptions, do not apply to Puerto Rico and California.

• Parental Leave: Female employees will continue to receive six to eight weeks for the birth of a child under parental and other leave policies. In addition, the partner or spouse will be eligible for two weeks of parental leave – this is a newly added benefit.

• Holiday Schedule: The U.S. holiday schedule also will be standardized across the SBGs. All U.S. sites will have 12 days off for holidays. There will be seven standard holidays and five days set by the SBG or site.

There were no changes to Exempt Vacation Policy in California. It is protected by law. They still accrue vacation under the old plan and are paid for unused vacation when if they separate from Honeywell during they year.

This was all about saving money. There is no accrued vacation liability on the books. They company jut cut their costs. Unlimited vacation at the discretion of the company means that the Phoenix Engineering organization will be available to work the period from Thanksgiving until Christmas. Many are on vacation now through the end of the year.

No. YOU are taking company time posting rubbish so why don't YOU leave? You are clearly not happy if you are taking the time out posting complete and pointless nonsense that contributes nothing to the conversation.

Also, why are you on here wasting company time reading posts? This company is going to a full hi-tech model company, along with unlimited vacation. We are now project oriented and manage our own time. Or does the Company just want it both ways?

F course we're wasting time on the companies clock. I'm sure as hell not going to waste my own personal time that keeps getting reduced. Besides, Cote said it best, who best to manage our own time and money but us.....so in essence, by managing my time and wasting company time, I'm just following Cote's direction.

Can someone explain the "covered employee" clause? Does that protect the old-timers who have six weeks of vacation?

The communication was sent out to the managers yesterday. Someone has posted it on this website yesterday.
