Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Dreading tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be playing catch up on activities and projects that have been in limbo but no relief on schedule. Holidays coming, un-used vacation days, late actions due now with no appreciation or welcome back encouragement from managers, just more crap.

I'm sure this isn't over but with the limited time left in the year, not sure how they think they'll have more cuts of furloughs. Not sure how they can furlough during Christmas break as those days are an earned benefit but we'll see.

No more OT for me. I'm in a leadership role with no direct reports and my manager lives in another state but still 8 and done.

I hope you get both 6-month RIF package and a new job. If you are young, I think you should wait for the RIF. I understand more HON jobs are going to Mexico however. What kind of work are you doing for HON and Mexico???

I'm working on finding another job ASAP, that's my focus, I've worked for other 3 companies and right now Honeywell is the worst work environment I have experienced, so I will wait for Hon to get rid of me or to find a better job, hopefully those two get combined, being in Mexico (yes I'm Mexican) I'll get the severance benefit, as of now getting fired or laid off (no difference in Mexico) will get me over 6 months worth of salary, I'll make Honeywell pay. Plus with the exchange rate we have now we Mexicans become cheaper and cheaper

You can believe that if you want but your hunch would be incorrect. Morale is at an all time low in this company and I've never seen it this bad. No one is excited about working here and that my friend, signals that there will be a mass exodus.

My hunch is that there is one really angry old 'has-been Engineer since the 70's/80's' guy out there posting all the "I'm not gonna do any work anymore!" rants and the rest of us still have some integrity. SMH

You guys need to chill out and stop fighting like kids. The reality is, the poster below is completely right. There are 0 incentives to work hard at this company. The rewards are a big slap in your face. The morale is sh-- and everyone not close to retirement is looking to find something better.

It's not about being lazy it's about not giving your sweat and tears to greedy people that run this place. They will never reward you or give you what you even deserve so why should you work hard? Especially with layoffs around every corner that are completely independent of your performance.

Work hard in finding another job, that's what you should work hard at.

Unpaid time off, 401k match reductions, rising insurance premiums coupled with reduced coverages, no merit increases, possible 10% pay reduction, pension decreases or elimination. Are these all incentives to work harder? I'm supposed to just take it and say thank you may i have another? I dont think so. Let's get one thing crystal fvcking clear. Honeywell owes it's success to the employees. Let me say that again. Honeywell is successful because of the employees. Not because of phoney baloney Mahoney, not because of dave or darius, not the Stock holders and not HOS. So for Dave to screw the very people he owes his success to is both very telling about his gross lack of character and his attitude towards the employees. So if the leader of the company doesn't care about me, my well being or my family, I'm suddenly supposed to care about him or the company? Why? Why is respect a 1 way street and why is everyone so accepting of This? This is the problem with America. It's become a nation full of pvssies. This garbage would have never happened in 1950's and now in 2016, as honeywell is outsourcing jobs at a record pace and as dave is literally taking money from me and keeping it for himself and giving the rest to Wall street, I'm supposed to respond with graciousness?? You have the b@lls to sit there and criticize me when its dave you should be criticizing. Good day sir!!!!

Of course you're going to do those things because you've been doing them your whole career. Why would you stop now? I know your type and there aren't very many of you. (Don't let this echo chamber fool you.) There are just enough of you to be annoying, not nearly enough of you to "screw Honeywell."

To the "stop whining" people: you better start working some serious OT if you want Aero to survive, because I'm pretty sure ther are a lot more of us that don't give a shyte and are looking to screw Honeywell. For every hour I don't work, and for every email I delete or document I reject, you can work harder to make up for it. I'm looking out for myself only, and you ought to do the same.

So that's your moral justification for collecting a Honeywellfare check and not doing your job. Losing productivity because of furlough stress is one thing but that.... Wow.

To the Poster who starts out asking "Did they stop paying you for your time in the office?". The answer is "Yes, they did". They stop paying for our time in the office when they mandate un-paid work furloughs. They are not paying us for time in the office when we should have been there, working and being paid. Yes, during unpaid furloughs, they are NOT paying us for time in the office. Period.

Did they stop paying you for your time in the office? Stop whining and do your f---ing job. Better yet, please do go work for a competitor. Based on your attitude, it sound like youll do nothing but b--ch and complain working for them too.

I came back to 400+ emails! I will highlight every email that came in while I was out and delete every one of them! Now I can concentrate on the most important work; resume polishing and customizing. I'll do that until I find something else but one thing is for sure, I am D O N E working for HON and all these lowlife so called "leaders". These fvcking morons couldn't lead themselves out of a wet paper bag. All remaining honeywell people; get out. Get out while you're still employed. Don't bother trying to catch up on all this work, just let it all pile up and maybe they will have infosys do it. Who even cares anymore? Even if you catch everything up this week, there are no merit increases, no financial incentives at all. What you WILL get for all your hard work is more furlough weeks, a possible 10% pay reduction, a disappearing pension and eventually, laid off. So I ask you, what incentive is there to do anything but the absolute bare minimum?

I want to time it so that HON loses a big contract because something didn't get done. I also want to give as little notice as possible... maybe I'll give my notice on Wednesday that Friday is my last day and then I'll go work my tail off for a direct HON competitor. With all the knowledge I have over the years, I know some of the competition would LOVE to get their hands on it. You did this to yourselves timmy and davy! You better finish dumping your HON stock quickly, dave because AERO is falling fast.

Pay you for giving notice> Either way, they pay you for what they owe you at the time, un-used vac., accrued vac for next year, NO 26 weeks (if eligible). They can't penalize you for no notice. I plan to give notice but effective in two weeks. That way it looks as if I did give notice but as slow as HON Hr works, they won't even get a req. open in two weeks.

I'm with Done with HON. At this point I'm going to focus on m family and myself. I don't give a flying F about HON or its customers. I'll continue to let work pile up, and if I see something I can do to slow it down, I will. This after many years of good service, free OT, working nights from home, etc. My only focus is on getting out. I'm going to go work my butt off for a competitor.

Not sure if I'll give notice or not. Don't they pay you if you give notice?

It's clear the comlany couldn't give two schitting sh--ts about any of us or our families so, since respect is a two way street, I will no longer be caring about anything other than getting out of HON. Making contacts, interviews and sending resumes is all I'm going to be doing till I find something else and send my resignation letter with no notice. Reports, emails, metrics, and HOS are all things I no longer give a fuuck about. I'll leave my IM on busy and everyone will just think I'm recovering from the furlough hahahahahaha

Don't work a single minute past 8 hours. Last tine we did this it took me a week to get caught up. Not this time! It might take me a month or more. Who cares anyway.
