Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

HCSC plans to have 540 laid off in IT

In the grand schema of things, it's not much for us (about 2% of the total headcount at HCSC) but this is huge as these are well paid jobs and this is another hit to the local economy. We'll see what happens in 2017 as more and more cuts may be coming - many insurers are trimming costs in IT so it's not good. Good luck to all...

The business side has been been outsourced since 2014 they keep training more an more people. There is a round of voluntary retirement that were offered to several 50 an over with 15 yrs or more. These retirements start in late October thru the end of Junes 2017

So long as it's economically advantageous to outsource jobs and there's no repercussions for doing so, it's in their interest to do so. I don't blame the company, I blame the laws that allow and encourage it.

From my understanding, once they are done with ITG, they will then start to outsource the business side.
