Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Just remember that…

  1. All jobs are temporary.

  2. Being released IS a new beginning.

  3. You will probably go through the whole cycle of denial, despair, anger…

  4. But, you will also find out the colors are brighter, the birds sing sweeter and the world is an infinite range of possibilities.

  5. This can be time to consider a whole different career, to move closer to family or to spend more time with loved ones.

Best of luck, everyone.

One correct thing you said "All Jobs are Temporary". So I wish the weenies would stop talking about the "Careers at Honeywell"......A career is just a bunch of "Temporary Jobs".

If you ask me which is better I'd have kept my job over getting kicked to the curb. I may have been dead tired but at least I could have fed my family. Honeywell has ruined lives today. Say what you want about new beginnings, and s----it-up happy messages...the bottom line here is the ugliness of greed has struck down and there is nothing anyone can say or will do about it. Everyone left will just say "well it didn't happen to me because I am worth keeping. That other guy had it coming." Tell yourself that, then drown in your pathetic ice cream social pretending you work for a great and worthy company.

Yes, the solution is a "Ice cream social" or "food truck day" or a "bring your ride to work day". With yearly raises for employees in the 0% to 1.9% range, and a MIP for band 4's at best 10%. First level , Second level managers, and Directors get a 15%, 30%, 250% MIP respectively. CP, Mr. "bring your ride to work day" hauls in a 650% MIP, not to mention restricted stock options, and "Senior leadership bonuses". Honeywell management is grossly out of touch. Bring up these facts, and you get "Harvell'ed" in 260 microseconds.

What is worse? Getting laid off or having to stay so they can work you to death, since it's "more efficient that way", to make up for the people they leaned out. Nobody wins in this situation.

The only solution for bad times is to cut the US workforce apparently. This is the result of the lack of investment in the future of HON Aerospace. The pipeline is pretty dry as they continue to build products designed 15-20 years ago while the competition is starting to eat into their market share. Where's the seed planting that was supposedly occurring? What a shame to see this once great company die the death of a thousand cuts.

I am so sick and tired of that friggin one door closes another one opens crap! What about the miserable hallway that goes on forever before the next door opens up; and when you're in your 60s you don't know if it is ever going to open up again. This is not the only corporation i've worked for. They have miserably treated the American people and are in bed with the politicians who have allowed it. My heart goes out to all of the people who have or will lose their jobs; and the rest of us who have to pick up the pieces, with our stomach in knots waiting for the next action....

Spoken like a true Honeywell HR weenie. We have one in Phx that seems to think the solution to everything is "Lets have an ice cream social". What a dope.

Sir "There are plenty of good paying jobs"...........Apparently you are in this for yourself only. One does not need to look far to see how many people are struggling out there. No Honeywell is not the fault of all that but it is a contributor to the exodus of jobs leaving the USA. Yea we can all just worry about ourselves and find another means of employment....but will our children have that ability. Other countries offer cheaper educations (some free). They have national medical insurance. They have stronger Unions. They offer 0 based tax structures. Yes the stock holders get the gains of this but remember that 40% of American don't invest in the stock market...primarily because they don't make enough money. We have let corporate America sell us out in the name of profit. Now if you don't care about anyone but yourself then yes....we will all be OK.....but America is not OK....

Calm down. Everything happens for a reason. One door close and another opens. Fear is normal when facing the unknown and you have to leave your comfort zone.

The guy that constantly whines about mortgage on here is embarrassing himself. The situation is not as dire as he makes it seem. Learn to be a little frugal. People say millennials are spoiled brats, but it is crap like his that makes him seem spoiled, "not enough good paying jobs" there are plenty of decent paying jobs, show your worth and you will be fine.

Wow the delusion is STRONG here! Yeah enjoy those wonderful 'gifts' while you starve to death and get thrown out on the street cos you can't pay your mortgage.. perhaps some of you haven't noticed, but the US isn't exactly awash with good paying, desirable jobs right now... In fact there are a LOT of people out of work, so the chances of just stepping into another comparable / better role are pretty slim... better to acknowledge a harsh reality than live in kool aid unicorn land and then wake up with a serious dose of reality.

Pick your poison - the reality is, if you survive this cut, you are good for at most 6 months.
