COP needs to cut additional costs by centralize all it's corporate support services to it's corporate headquarters in Houston. Even corporate R&D programs are better supported and funded the closer they are to headquarters. It appears that the majority of our company agrees with this strategy . Please voice your comments whether we should do it sooner or later?

The problem is centralization - get rid of the lot and go local. If it's that important for the company large BU's will find a way to get things done between themselves.
We are a global company and mostly support teams work on the phone or online with their customers. It makes no difference where they sit. Facilities costs are much lower in Bartlesville.
Bartlesville did not have any problem with shutting down Ponca City and now that it's their turn. Instead of commuting to Bartlesville I will move to Katy!
Bartlesville's time has come and gone. The company should be into full survival mode now and that means shutting down Bartlesville. I hate what that means for a lot of good people, but that's the reality we are facing. Time to make some very tough calls. At least P66 should be soft place to fall for many.
Bartlesville saves the company too much money to close it. Give the Houston folks a chance to consolidate up here, then shutdown high priced Houston services. If they don't want a move then a layoff should be the next option. COP needs to take the tough but right decisions.
There are a lot of support job functions that are duplicated by having a remote center in Bartlesville and corporate center and headquarters in Houston. Bartlesville is a leftover operation from the merger and now it's time to phase it out and close it.
I hope they do centralize and I am given a chance to get out of Bartlesville! This place is awful and it would save the company a lot if they moved what we do to Houston.
The shared services functions are centralized, in Bartlesville. Costs would not be cut with a move of the shared services to Houston. I am not advocating continuing shared services in Bartlesville, but a move fo the shared services to Houston would not cut costs. R&D is most effective close to the business unit.
