Honeywell is name only these days. Honeywell was once a great employer when Honeywell was indeed Honeywell and corporate was on MPLS MN.

I agree with the OP and 1xlc below, the old Honeywell Incorporated was much better to work for before the merger with Allied Signal. However, since Allied Signal employees have also posted that it was better there before the merger with Honeywell Incorporated, the change seems to have started with the management team that took over shortly after the merger and the company became Honeywell International. The stock price is up a lot since that merger, but the company is not a good place to work. The responsibility for both of those appears to lie with the current CEO.

Honeywell International has squeezed all the blood out of the legacy Honeywell rock. Expect major divestments of Honeywell Red businesses.

i agree with the original post,Honeywell was a great engineering company. Ever since the take over by Allied Signal the aerospace business, I'm sure other HI business units have similar results, has been in a slow and constant decline.

Honeywell was the premier company for technology, a aspirational product, for OEMs looking for advance tech for their aircraft. To achieve this status the old Honeywell was required to constantly innovate, invest in people, technology, and partner with customers in their success.

contrast this the Cote approach (aka Jack welch playbook) of risk avoidance (no new investment in people and technology) and controlling cost ( squeezing employee and suppliers) to maximize value to make the quarterly numbers. It has taken almost 15 years to get all of the value out of Honeywell that they can get. The product lines are old and sales are faltering, so Honeywell is looking for the next proven technology company to buy and extract value from (look at all of the recent takeovers). This is a valid business model, in which they have provided high dividends and a appreciating stock price, 401Ks have done well owning this stock.

for the employees and customer of the legacy product lines it is a difficult time, and the end of the line is within sight. There is a lot of fear and anxiety for those that want to or need to Hang on for the next year or two . for meI expect (hope to) get walked out in the next week or two, as that will give me time to reflect and plan the next phase my life, and to hopefully find a growth oriented company, that seeks to invest in it product not in the next acquisition.

anyway best of luck to everyone.
