Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Just heard that we will have to take a 10% pay cut that will start Dec. 2016 instead of 2 furloughs.

So salary non-management will work overtime for free? Or they make sure we all work 36 hrs? I rather get furlough and use that time to search a new job.

Sounds like they are having a little mercy on us. Dec. is a 5 week month, so 1 week (40hrs) off would be 20% furlough pay cut while a 36 hr. x 5 week would only be (20hrs) or 10% furlough pay cut. Probably know that they will never make their q4 numbers if they have a furlough in Dec.

I've never heard this before... What site(s) have they implemented a 36 hr. work week and when? Is there any plants currently on a 36hr work week?

They have also done an across the board 10% pay cut. Much cleaner and permanent. It also will further reduce what your pension will pay.

Short Cycle Growth, Head Winds, Design Baby Clothes... Anyone else sick of hearing this?

No. There is no truth to this. Nobody overheard Cote/Mahoney talking in line for an all-you-can-eat buffet waiting for the chocolate fountain with a plate full of crab.

However in this anonymous commenters opinion we will likely see:

  • Increase in healthcare premiums come November.

  • Reduction in your 401k match

  • A 'standing' furlough arrangement of 4 hours a week...they have done this previously where they have instituted a 36 hour work week. Anyone handy with math can see this is a 10% reduction in pay, but it won't be sold as that, and don't expect to only work 36 hours.

I wouldn't be THE LEAST BIT surprised if they did both!

I hope its true - because I am 99% sure I'll be gone by then. Anyone with any sense will be also - unless you can't leave (too close to retirement). If so, then just sit there and wait to see if you or Honeywell dies first.

I hope this is true so I can take all my personal items home then ensure nothing ships for the rest of the year. Tim, please take this to heart and I mean what I say when I say that you are the worst leader I've ever come across. I sincerely hope you lose your job, and soon. Your family will be fine after the millions you've been s---ing from this company (among other things you've been s---ing, I'm sure)

Short cycle growth doesn't happen when your employees are on furlough. It happens when they are working.

So, that accounts for 5 weeks of Furloughs - and we don't get the time off!
