Doesn't matter. Anyone who is still receiving a paycheck in the US is literally on borrowed time. You are all just working until they can move your job out to someone who took ESL classes and will work for $5,000 per year. All you can do is polish your resume and leave the company at your earliest convenience. This is not a "hump" the company is getting over; it's the beginning of the push to replace American workers with foreigners. Get out now or ride the ship all the way to the bottom but make no mistake, the ship is sinking and if you think otherwise, you are sorely mistaken.
From what I recall, the company is using band 4 funds to pay the severance pay for the layoff. The company wins twice, no pay for the week and no OT pay to catch up for the lost work from the furlough.
