Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Meanwhile, HON is hiring at diversity job fairs

HON is staffing for all the major diversity job fairs and sending contingents of people. Apparently, they are going to be hiring new grads. At one, it's been announced that Bob Smith is getting "Best Male Manager of Women" (paraphrased) award! The award writeup is beyond hilarious. Note this award came after HON started sponsoring that group. This is the same Bob Smith who made a derogatory comment about app writing to sell baby clothes! App writing and ecommerce are where the jobs are in tech!

Its time to leave Honeyhell and get into other industries which are not economy dependent. Medical, utilities, etc. When the economy slows down, people stop spending money on non essential things. Honeyhell has not had any organic growth for some time and the latest attempt at what Dave calls "growth", the buying of UT, failed and as a result, Dave is leaving the sinking ship with his golden life raft, but staying close enough so he can shout orders back to Timmy and Darius as they ride it all the way to the bottom! Good job Dave!

Actually, I have done something about it, left last year.....don't work for Intel, but for a start-up. You should appreciate some info you are getting from this site instead of b--ching. Regarding some people that "don't do nothing" about it, it's not so easy as dusting off your resume....some have company specific skills that are not easily applicable to other industries.

go work at Intel then.. jesus, everyone wants to compare all the time but nobody actually does anything about it. If you're unhappy with your job, get the resume dusted off, update it and start looking for a new job.

I meant Intel and some enhanced retirement packages they got, according to what they post; also their cap for volunteer/invol separation was 50+ weeks....

There is a 26 week cap on severance pay. You are not talking about band 4 and below.

The difference being of course that Intel pays almost double (salary+profit sharing+target bonus+RSUs); in the recent layoffs people walked out with big packages (some mentioned 2 yr salaries, medical, etc.).

Just like Intel really ..on one hand you have layoffs that disproportionately affect older workers but since your pushing for more diversity, the justice department gives you a pass
