You guys all think you're so smart, don't you? But are you smart enough to realize that all the people working under you think you're a bunch of arrogant asses? Are you smart enough to realize that employee morale is at an all time low? Are you smart enough to see that productivity is sinking like the Titanic? Are you smart enough to see that nobody cares if the company succeeds or fails? You're probably arguing with some or all of the above in your head aren't you? And that fact alone, of which I am certain, is proof that you are ignorant to what you have done to this company. Lean this out, cut 3% there, pull that schedule in, set the goals higher, do it for less money, have India do it, ignore that problem, freeze salaries, cut the MIP, work unpaid overtime, RIFs, furloughs, and last but not least, make sure the executives feel no pain and are highly rewarded for squeezing more blood out of a turnip.
Don't like it? Go ahead, walk around and witness the gray faced zombies working toward their demise. Sure, they will all smile and shake your hand and tell you things are going great. But too bad you can't see behind your back because you'd see those same people rolling their eyes and making leud gestures as you walk away.
How are you going to fix this, Mr. Smart guy? I doubt you can. And curiously, you don't need to. You will just report up that these are tough times and it's part of the business and that your taking smart and necessary actions. I'm sure this quarter's numbers are looking OK, considering these tough times. Oh wait... Isn't the stock market is at a record high? Honeywell's stock is at a record high? Dave needs a new island? Do you have any idea what it feels like to not know if you can pay your bills next month? I'd bet you can't begin to even comprehend it.
Sure, we'll all work harder. In your dreams. How about we save some real money and lay you off?
