Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

WFH Exemptions

My manager told us that all WFH exemptions will have to be approved by Coty. Which means there will not be any exemptions. Everyone must show up at a Honeywell facility somewhere or they will be terminated.

Bottom line - productivity, quality will suffer. Honeywell current profits will be reduced.

Same here! Even if what i had to do only takes 30 minutes, I take the whole day off. I purposely schedule appointments when i have a lot of meetings that day or ehen there's something important going on. My life and my business are FAR more important than taking care of daves piggy bank. If the ALT doesnt like it, they can all go get fcked. This is the result of no more working from home. We are back in the 80s working at honeyhell.

Well the next time you need to take time off for doctor's appointment, etc...just take the whole day off and tell them to go f--- themselves. I believe we all get 1 week of paid days off for stuff happening in life. I know most people work around that which is easy to do if you can work from home. But from now on, just take the time off and use your full benefits. Have a doctor appointment? No problem, take the day off and tell them to go f themselves if they complain. Easy. That's what I'll be doing.

What kind of CEO worries about such trivial things?? Shouldn't he be out growing the business rather than worrying that an engineer in Southern California is asking to WFH because he/she has customers all over the globe but not in the nearest location?

And as to the one-off exceptions. don't my manager AND the HR manager have better things to do than for me to explain that I have a mammogram, pap test and what-not?

Cote's toadies will do what ever it takes in hopes they will get some juice off of that gravy train.

I always worked more hours when working from home (plus, my commute takes 1-2 hours each way). My entire team works at different sites across the globe, so we never meet face to face anyway. Forcing me to come into a site everyday only takes away my productivity at work and the company gets less from me. Oh well, if that's what they really want. Seems they didn't really give this very much thought. I would have surveyed my employees to determine the pros and cons prior to making a decision like this, but then, I'm not an idiot.

That's not true at all. They will allow employees to WFH depending upon the position they are in and if necessary, HR will work with you to request an exemption from Cote. Just a suggestion, but you should probably know how to spell Cote's name if you work at Honeywell.
