Honeyhell will not be around in one year. They are positioning it to be sold off by division. It is awful tempting to go with the RIF, but at almost 60 the prospects for another job are not real good.

If you take the layoff, make sure you request the same package as Toronto employees. I heard they get 4X the U.S. package. Yes, you read that correctly. They can get up to 24 months of severance pay depending on years of service.
I'm sure execs would not want that to be common knowledge.
APU's - that's why. UTC is our direct competitor for APU - probably just buy "Engines" purely to remove our APU's from the market place
I am a doubter about a UTC takeover, unless when they were in discussions earlier this year of Honeywell offering to buy THEM, UTC said:
"Dave, you ignorant fool. We have photos of you groping a woman's breast at a Donald Trump roast party. Trump's hand was on one, and yours was on the other. So now you will pay for SAP to be installed company-wide and set it up for us, then you will sell your company to US, cheaply. You will have to escape to your private island, which will be staffed by foreign slave laborers sent from the factory in Bintan."
Why would UTC buyout this old worn out company? No new product in decades, supply chain is a mess and the customers hate us. At best, they would keep Mexico and what technology they could and close the rest
I heard from a friend he was in a etrade investor conference and asked about buying Hon stock. They said Hon was being positioned for a UTC buyout.
